Evandro Rachoni de Lima

League One side Crawley Town have signed Brazilian goalkeeper Evandro Rachoni de Lima on non-contract terms.

The 25-year-old has spent the bulk of his career in Brazil, but has also had spells in Angola and Ukraine.

Crawley have just one senior keeper on their books at the moment, with no recognised back-up to Brian Jensen.

How do players like him get work permits to play in England?? I know some have family that qualifies them within the European Union, but if not aren't their rules regarding national team appearances to gain a work permit?

Actually thought you had to have played a certain amount of internationals but saying that he is non contract which may be a way to get round the rules

Even as a non-contract player he will still be getting paid, so therefore would need a work permit. I would hazard a guess that he has a passport from one of the EU countries through a grandparent or something like that which entitles him to work here.
