Good for MM.

And read my lips: DO NOT SELL WESTWOOD!! Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down

Not good strategic thinking imo SCO. We sell Westwood for $4m. We have no idea how much of that will be used to buy new players. We go out and buy a bunch of journeymen also rans. Stick Kirky back between the sticks and hey presto......we are a relegation side again. Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

No. No. No. DO NOT SELL WESTWOOD!!!!! Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down

This is pretty much what I predicted a week ago as to what MM would say. Just surprised that he didn't include the " It would take an extraordinary fee for us to part with either of them," to bump up interest and start an auction.

If he thinks we are not a selling cub then he is wrong. Everyone in England except Man City, Chelsea & Man Utd are selling clubs. Arsenal have lost Clichy, Sagna & Nasri to Man City while Spurs lost Berbatov to Man Utd & Bale to Real Madrid. The key is to maximise the fee when you lose these players so you can re-invest & make your squad stronger.

I like the words MM, now back it up by actions & get new contracts signed by Westwood, Mattock, Loovens, Maghoma, Lee, Semedo & Nuhui.

I don't want to see either player go, but if we were to get say 8m for the pair AND the money is reinvested into the squad, then I would see that as progress. The key here is not the selling of the players, that is always going to happen, its what we do with the money we get for them!!! As MS said, it ridiculous to say we are not a selling club, get the right offer and you can have any of our players!!

Seems a deal has been agreed for Afobe to sign for Wolves, now we will see whether he can make the jump to the Championship or not!!!

Just reading a few reports and comments regarding the potential takeover and it got me wondering how serious this one may actually be. MM has said himself now that he is in "serious" talks with a group looking at the club. He doesn't mention a takeover exactly so i suppose it could be investment he is getting rather than selling up outright, but MM is always cagey with the wording he uses!!

But lets look at this another way. We all know that MM has probably taken us as far as he can (or is prepared to do). The next step will likely take spending a few million on the squad to get us up and we can achieve this one of two ways - either sell some players and reinvest in the squad (Westwood, Lees, Dieln etc) or get some new investment from outside that is prepared and wealthy enough to pump the few million into us.

I think its fair to say that if we sell any of our top players in the transfer window, then the takeover is either not real or not going to succeed or just simply too early in the whole process and we will be heading down the way above. Surely any serious bidder for us would be saying to MM "Do not sell the best players or we will be off", it has to be part of the deal to leave everything intact at the point of bidding. So far we have loaned out a couple of players and brought in one loanee for the remainder of the season, and that was done after this takeover talks was leaked, so at the moment it does not seem to be affecting our transfer dealings, so if we don't sell Westwood , Lees and Dielna, then I actually think this takeover may be real as it leaves the prize assets the club has completely intact.

Your thoughts????

If MM sells Wednesday to someone who has to stump up 30m just for the priveledge to buy us in the first place, then I don't care if they give a xxxx about Wednesday now!! When MM paid 1 pound for us he didn't have Wednesday in his heart, he saw an opportunity to save us and to make a profit while doing it!! Any new owner will fall in love with the club once they get into it and there is no way anyone is coming in to see us fail, they too will want to see their investment pay off, and that means reaching the prem!!

For every one that makes a profit out of owning an English football club, there are ten that make a loss. Very few are in it for the profit. Most that come in now are in it for the status it brings so they can impress friends & clients.

Those sort of people (on a world wide scale) are only interested in PL potential. We become saleable if we have a chance of PL football.

Not sure why that Sarver guy who offered £20m for Rangers doesn't see Wednesday as a better prospect.

On Madine, he isn't going to score much playing for a team such as Coventry, who create next to nothing. Think we should be looking to pull him out of there & offer him to a struggling SBC side who at least create a few chances, maybe Millwall.

Cool

As I said yesterday, MM has got his media team working full out now to take advantage of our league position. Reading all these stories you would think we were nailed on for promotion. MM clearly sees this as his best chance to find a new buyer & if he gets more than one then he gets a better price.

Keep plugging us Mandy!

I don't fancy our club being run the way some of those big boys are being run anyway, I mean what are the debts for the top 5 PL clubs? They must be exponential, along with the added pressure to succeed or it's debt accrued for nothing.
