Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
Looks like the keatings case is coming up in January.

If he were to win the Court of Session action, then the Scottish Government would then have the legal right to hold an independence referendum without a Section 30 order which would be binding on Westminster. That of course changes everything.

People funded as well Jim. Lotsa Scot people like myself who couldn't "wear" a smirking Johnson (or May for that matter!) actually telling us, the Scottish people, when we are allowed or not allowed to call for a referendum on Scotindy at any time when we deem it necessary to do it. Martin Keatings shares the same sentiment to question the legality of this authoritative position.

On the new Covid19 restrictions, congratulations to Nicola on getting the necessary actions into place quickly. In my opinion it should have happened before Christmas, but a positive decision has been made now - no messing around.

Agreed.

She has got things wrong with her reaction to covid too, but I thought today she explained pretty well why this is needed, what they hope to achieve and finally a roadmap out of this nightmare. All being well around march time we should see a major reduction in elderly people being admitted to ICU and evidence from the numbers that the vaccines are working.

Problem with taking action before xmas was as you pointed out yourself - too many numpties wouldn't have followed the advice anyway.

I notice the FM has briefly had a "go" at Celtic's "jolly" in Dubai. Lenny saying the trip was agreed months ago but the situ changed to an extreme one Neil dohhhhh!! Rolleyes And esp when one considers all the sacrifices that are being made by the general public on a daily basis - another poor image of Scot footie AGAIN and the sport has not been the "flavour of the month" in the eyes of the Scot govt for a while now and for obvious reasons!!

They were absolutely crazy to go there. Absolute madness. However the Scots government played a key role in allowing them to go there, which they shouldn't have either.

The FM said last night that the Scot govt gave "advice" to the SFA re such an exercise being considered but in reality any kinda permission had expired anyway due to the fluid nature of this crisis where the situation changes from week to week.

This is a recurring theme where Joe Public is told not to travel outside his area and to stay at home, yet thousands of people are apparently allowed to fly in and out of Scotland without a care in the world. What happened to the legally enforceable travel advice?

Correct. On the radio earlier they were saying there are 2 flights a day to Dubai from the UK and back. Never mind flights coming in from South Africa and elsewhere.

One guy/traveller who arrives in and departs out of Glasgow Airport fairly regularly saying he has his neg test docs in his pocket and yet never stopped at the airport by anybody of authority. Anyone surprised!?
