Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
Listening to that wee Scot Tory nyaff, Douglas Ross, "playing politics" and slagging off the Scot govt for "letting down the students" while it was pointed out to him that it is now similarly "kicking off" in England now that English universities are starting their new terms for students - suddenly as "quiet as a moose" - wrong political target and no opinion from our treacherous little converted Brexit shit heid after opposing Brexit for long enough.

The internal market bill which passed yesterday in Westminster is nothing short of a disgrace section 46 basically hands control of health, water, power and transport to the Tories, if the SNP have any savvy they will tell Westminster to ram themselves and declare UDI for breaking the treaty of the Union article 19 another change to the treaty by England without the consent of the Scottish population.

The initial move against this "power grab" is that the Scottish govt will refuse to pass what is known as a legislative consent motion on the IM bill - such consents are normally required for the UK Parliament to pass laws that involve devolved matters, which this bill does. A vote will be taken in the Scot Parliament against this consent and Scot Labour and the Green Party support that refusal and will provide a big majority in the Holyrood Parliament to refuse consent. IMO it is an existential issue - yep, as serious as that!! What will certainly follow will be a confrontation in the law courts. Should the Brit govt win that legal battle then I agree that the Treaty of Union has been violated and we finally tell them to "shove it". However, I suspect the SNP/Scot govt will take a "softly softly" approach v a real bunch of "dirty tricks" Tory chancers - they are "wise" to these c#### and don't underestimate their ability to move things politically in a democratic and constitutional sense up to a point of no return when the huge indy movement will finally and seriously be mobilised to take action.

Much is going to depend on scotlab and scotliberal's take on this, are they going to help bury devolution or are they going to roll over again for the sake of opposing independence ?

I perceive there is an existential issue for them and the Scot Parliament in which they practice their politics. Scot Labour definitely look like they are against the IM bill as are the Scottish Greens. Read Mairi Black's barnstorming speech in the UK Parliament - definitely worth a read and I can't disagree with what she has said and the most obvious way forward for Scotland as a progressive nation with a positive, pluralist society. A case of Bella Caledonia - time to move on sooner rather than later!

Thought sturgeon was seriously rattled today at Holyrood when questioned on salmondgate. There is no excuse, the WhatsApp messages from her husband have been leaked and we know that she is stonewalling the enquiry. Its really not a good look.

As for that SNP MP who travelled by train when having symptoms and again with a positive test - words fail me. She has to go.

I watched FM's questions at lunch time and didn't think she was rattled at all Jim. She saw out the whole FMQ session fairly comfortably TBH. I'd say she was more irritated by some of the shit that Baroness Ruth the unelected mooth was uttering and the clear political agenda that is attached to Tory utterances - one Tory prat, Mundell, was yesterday ejected from the chamber by The Speaker, for "crossing a red line" and refusing to apologise!! Sturgeon's assertion that she has consistently offered an oral representation to the investigative parliamentary committee but the offer never taken up yet certainly looked like a genuine one. I personally think there is a bigger issue re the role of the SNP NEC and the members within this group at a defining moment when choosing SNP candidates to contest constituency seats for next May's Scottish election, an election that all OP indicators point towards a significant SNP victory. Therefore there will be a lotta careerist politicians, and others, trying to attach themselves to this kinda "gravy train" in which I, as an indy supporter but never a member of any political party, would cynically question the motives of some of these people and their "real politics", values and aspirations in securing an MSP's annual salary of £64470 that is not "to be scoffed at".

The FM was swift in condemning and dealing with Margaret Ferrier but read the above shit coming from the shameless Tory bastards/hypocrites who did not respond in kind to their offending anarchist, Cummings!!! Thumb down I listened to that treacherous little anti-Scotland Tory bastard, Baroness Davidson (who doesn't like to be addressed as Baroness btw!!) on the bbc last night rightly condemning Ferrier but shamelessly trying to dilute the Cummings faux pas and the crass response of the Tory govt in defending the c###! Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'm sure there will be a "Janey Godley moment"/satirical sketch being produced on the lines of "How many f####### times do I have to tell people about the FACTS way to tackle COVID and its symptoms!!!!! Have these clowns got f####### pea brains in their heads"????

What Ferrier did was far, far worse than what Cummings did.

I'm not doubting that at all Jim. Both offences ultimately still deserving of resignation but the abject hypocrisy from the Tories (and certain RW media) is as usual so f###### glaring when it comes to condemning one of their own offenders esp when their govt stuck to defending such an offender with no contrition attached to him whatsoever. He had to go but didn't, unlike Calderwood up here in Scotland!! We'll see if Ferrier opts to resign and leave parliament or do what a lotta these hi-profile offenders do, as previously observed in Westminster and Holyrood - opt to stay, pick up the big annual salary and become an independent politician. I must also add that it struck me at lunch time perhaps Ferrier should've been on the podium that the FM occupied and fielded the criticisms and explained her position instead of Nicola doing it on behalf of another offender AGAIN!
