Every league in Europe will be waiting to see how this impacts the Belgian TV and sponsorship.

In a statement, the league said: "The board of directors unanimously decided that it was not desirable, whatever the scenario envisaged, to continue the competition after 30 June."

Ooooft.

Well if that passes then the precedent is set!!!  Going to be some meltdowns at some clubs if this is what happens across Europe!!  The Belgian League only had one game left to go, so their decision was a little easier and they also make no mention of the relegation issue either.

It had one game to go before the split, much like in Scotland.

The clubs are meeting later this month to try and reach an agreement but it looks like they are talking about no relegation for this season. Going by what UEFA were saying earlier it looks like the smaller leagues may have had enough and no there is little chance of the league being settled before 30 June.

It should be pointed out that Club Bruges were 15 points ahead with 1 game to go. So in my opinion, no precedent has been set for other national leagues, where the top team could be overtaken.

Ritchie - in Belgium they half the points when they go into the split so bruges would have a 7 point lead going into the split with 10 games left.

No bother mate, one things for sure going by todays press it looks like UEFA are raging with the Belgian FA.

It could well end up with the small leagues pulling the plug and going with league standings simply to just try and survive V the big leagues and UEFA's interests.

UEFA saying that this option renders Euro footie participation not happening for any relative footie league clubs! And UEFA advising that leagues can be completed in July-August is IMO "not living in the real world"!!! Scottish footie officials apparently outraged by this formal directive and no wonder!!

As ever it's OK for the bigger leagues but the smaller ones will go to the wall. UEFA only care about the TV money attached to their own competitions. The Belgians know this and don't give a xxxx, why should they ? UEFA's competitions are rigged to let Italy,germany,england,spain and France get precedent.

I sense a split coming.... I'd obviously much rather play the games out but how long do we wait ? 6 months ? A year ? Our game will be lost forever unless the smaller leagues start acting. We need to start thinking of next season. Now.

Telegraph reporting that the SPFL are readying to pull the plug on this season. Celtic recognised as winners, no expansion and winter break cancelled.

Hibs finally issue their formal statement confirming the popular "furlough" word and various wage reductions agreed with players while a "skeleton" group of staff are keeping the club "ticking over" from home. I hope they somehow keep the grass trimmed and ready for future action lol. Otherwise the pitch could end up covered in super long grass and weeds after months of neglect. Lastly, re that furlough option, one query re this employment option is whether it is valid due to the players still training to some degree, which means they are working for the organisation that employs them and are therefore ineligible? Just a thought!

The SPFL now calling a midday conference and moving from top league to lower leagues in what looks like a poss final decision on the way forward! Null and void or a formal, forced early closure of the league season and awarding of league title winners or play on? Wait n see eh!

We will lose the income from the hertz games, possible 250k in prize money and a potential euro place. It's a big ask of us, but I can't see any other way forward.

According to the EEN we are voting YES to the SPFL proposals.
