Whatever happens the criticism of the EU as being undemocratic dictators and unelected by the people is ringing pretty hollow right now.

Westminster voting intention:
CON: 35% (+5) LAB: 24% (-1) LDEM: 18% (-) BREX: 14% (-) via @DeltapollUK, 29 - 31 Aug Chgs. w/ 27 Jul The Conservatives would have a majority of 28. Westminster voting intention: CON: 31% (+3) LAB; 24% (-) LDEM: 21% (-) BREX: 14% (-1) via @Survation, 29 - 30 Aug Chgs. w/ 11 Aug Hung Parliament. The Conservatives would be short by 15. Westminster voting intention: CON: 33% (-1) LAB; 22% (-) LDEM: 21% (+4) BREX: 12% (-1) GRN: 7% (-1) via @YouGov, 28 - 29 Aug Chgs. w/ 28 Aug The Conservatives would have a majority of 16. Interesting in each of those polls that the SNP would wipe out Labour and the Conservatives in Scotland and take full control bar 1 or 2 areas.

More to Football than the Premier League and SKY
I must say the takeover of the Scottish vote by the SNP has been very apparent for quite a while anyway as it has been clear that the main Unionist parties have imploded with the Scottish Labour Party notably in the same poor state for a very, very long time and Ruth Davidson's poor status didn't just happen in the past 2-3 weeks. She "disappeared" months n months ago for good reason but, in the interim, her C&U party lost all credibility and standing in the eyes of most of the Scottish population.

It will happen automatically unless Westminster comes up with a deal that is acceptable to the EU. It's not enough to be against something, you've got to be for another solution. Its all very well saying MPs should have voted for mays deal but it was a deal that didn't please anyone really...not enough to pass. The DUP (who the tories depend on) would never pass it, and her idiotic red lines mean that it couldn't gather enough support cross bench. Even at this late stage I haven't heard a "version" of brexit that is better than what we have now.
Yep! I concur with that end line and reiterate one of my previous comments that I am astounded by the clamour of media people and certain politicians, who obviously have a RW Brexit agenda, trying to "normalise Brexit" and have been "spoon feeding" this shit to the British public for quite a while. Meanwhile I notice the latest "Cummings move" through Johnson is to threaten the sacking/removal from the Tory party of all the rebel Tories who met him in a showdown meeting. There is clearly a "political game" being played by these unelected fascists and I suspect there is a cynical "double-pronged" effort to influence a move to bring down this govt that will force a snap general election that suits these guising Tory morons because they can force through a formal Brexit "no deal" withdrawal "through the back door"!! If these desperate c#### get even close to doing this, I honestly think we are gonna see scenes of some of the biggest protests and civil disorder in decades as many within the UK population have finally seen enough and been contemptuously ignored for far too long by RW politicians who have no respect for the public or true democratic values as well as no regard or respect for the wishes of the citizens within the three devolved countries!! For the past 3 years, I and millions n millions of decent citizens in this country, have endured watching xenophobia, misogyny, violence, shameless political lies/deceptions, murder of an innocent MP, death threats and massive intimidation/bullying of anti-Brexit opponents and eventually the imposition of an unelected fascist govt with no regard for true democracy whatsoever - it is like a contagious disease that has spread through many regions of England since 2016, absolutely shocking!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

The bottom line is that we won't get a Brexit deal better than Mrs May's, because the EU won't approve it. I still re-iterate that we have to adopt a positive position as far as the EU is concerned, as they are not interested in the internal workings of the UK Parliament. They have an agreed Deal with the UK Government and that's their position - probably the result of stupidly putting a committed Remainer in charge of Brexit.
Even if we escape with some sort of Deal, we will still have two years of Trade Negotiations, which might be even more difficult than what we've experienced already, so what's next? I think we'll end up with either a No Deal, with all the hardship that that will bring, hardship not felt by the wealthy Tory elite but by the ordinary man in the street, or a further extension to Article 50, with the intention of scrapping Brexit altogether.
Cabbage is still good for you
LIKEWISE IMO ARTICLE 50 WILL BE EXTENDED AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY BE REVOKED!! It will just take a bit of time at a "snail's pace" for revocation to eventually materialise because the "stalemate" is there for everyone to see and it has been evident for a long, long, long, long time ad nauseum!! That is exactly why we are where we are TBF and it is also reflected within the British population even though remaining in the EU is gradually gaining momentum now as a majority view/opinion!!

Ive been quite pleasantly surprised that corbyn hasn't fallen into any of Boris's traps yet. Maybe there is hope after all.
Labour need to play the next couple of days smartly. Get the Benn bill through tomorrow first and foremost. Then if Johnson wants an election, don't let him have it. Make it clear that he still has time to get a deal if he actually has any workable ideas. Well we know he doesn't, but let him reveal that to the voters when he is forced to the table. Then strike with a VONC, form a unity government and extend article 50. Its time to 'take back control'
Yep! I listened to one of his senior politicians explaining that Labour position articulately to a bbc interviewer! Thank god there are LP advisers around him who are "alive" to the political games that this scheming little shit, Cummings, is heavily involved in. As you say, still lotsa work to do and I pray that there are enough unified MPs "on board" to start "turning the screw" on Johnson and his Tory extremists. I wanna see this c###, Cummings, having his "nose knocked out of joint" not just once but lotsa times - it has become personal TBF!! I do not like bullying, scheming little shits like Cummings and never will change that stance against this kinda behaviour that he exudes!!
Meanwhile today I briefly listened to an utter moron of a Tory MP called Steve Baker who had been reminded that he had voted three times against his own government, contrary to his remonstrations re rebel Tories trying to block a "no deal" and extend Article 50. The hypocrisy being uttered by this guy, who confirmed his Sun columnist status (surprise, surprise!), was jaw-dropping - time to switch off and have a cup of tea! Then later on, Johnson's opening speech to a returned parliament was nothing short of amazing and unimpressive for someone who is in a PM position that he should not be anywhere near and behaving like a brat of a schoolboy. Watch this episode of utter bullshit and con!! Again, it is even more jaw-dropping than Baker's bullshit. Johnson's contorted face says it all - now facing parliamentary opponents who are livid with his attitude and the crass behaviour of his government!! HE IS OUT OF HIS DEPTH AND IT SHOWS!! Watch this shameless episode by a PM with no statesmanship or reputation!! The Speaker's correction of Johnson's wrong interpretation of a motion and a bill just "said it all"!! I must say Corbyn's speech was actually very good and covered a comprehensive list of relevant criticisms "across the board" incl the hypocrisy of most of Johnson's cabinet ministers. Also good stuff on the real reasons why the Amazon rainforest is burning. Corbyn and his advisers clearly had a lotta time to prepare a major assault on Johnson and his cohorts! And just revealed minutes ago, THE TORY GOVT IS NOW ONE SHORT OF A MAJORITY AS PHILLIP LEE MP HAS DEFECTED TO THE LIB DEMS!! Comment by Ken Clarke: I wish to comment on Johnson's amazing "knockabout" opening speech...... ha ha ha ha!! Johnson's replies are astounding and ALL INTERESTED CITIZENS MUST WATCH THIS!!
Lastly, one of the critical comments of the absconding MP, Phillip Lee, says it all: THE TORY PARTY IS INFECTED BY DISEASES OF ENGLISH NATIONALISM AND POPULISM, HENCE I AM LEAVING IT!! |
