European Union Referendum - In or Out??
Work has started to enable a motorway to be turned into a car park to deal with a no-deal Brexit, the Press Association reports. On Wednesday night Highways England began preparations for the M26 in Kent to be used as a holding area for lorries if there is gridlock. There is concern there could be delays at the nearby port of Dover if the UK withdraws from the EU without an agreement. There will be overnight closures on the motorway until Monday and in the run up to Christmas between November 19 and December 21 while the work is carried out. Diversions will be in place via the M25 and M20.

The more you observe these bizarre plans, the more one loses all faith in the ability of our so called political leaders(????) to start acting responsibly and stop ###### about!!! A case of "smell the coffee" and realise Brexit is a loada tosh!! It always was that way no matter how all those "angry people", Tories, UKIPpers etc, tried to "tart it up" to a predominantly passive population.

Donald Tusk now asking for "concrete proposals" from Saint Theresa? Come on Donald and realise that aint gonna happen with a British govt full of erseholes who are clueless and never came up with concrete proposals for a very long period when they should've come up with something tangible!!! I also notice John Major (remember him eh!) finally "joining the fray" in The Guardian newspaper and absolutely "slamming" into the con, the lie that was Brexit and the damage it is gonna do to the very people who were duped into supporting it!! You couldn't make up this farce and I wish somebody would "jump in", shut it down and let common sense finally prevail with a hastily arranged re-vote and a massive campaign on why remaining in the EU was always the better option - a proper representation of the facts and no more of the "Brexit shit" that was shamelessly bandied about to the UK population in 2016!!! Oh aye - and set a min 60% vote threshold, something that should've been emphasised in that farcical binary vote in 2016!

I just wondered if this might be the ideal solution to a hard Irish border:-

With his saggy hamburgers, colossal clothespins and giant three-way plugs, Claes Oldenburg has been the reigning king of Pop sculpture since the early 1960s, back when New York was still truly gritty. In 1961 he rented a storefront, called it The Store, and stocked it with stuffed, crudely-painted forms resembling diner food, cheap clothing, and other mass-manufactured items that stupefied an audience accustomed to the austere, non-representational forms in Abstract Expressionist sculpture. These so-called "soft-sculptures" are now hailed as the first sculptural expressions in Pop art. While his work has continued to grow in scale and ambition, his focus has remained steadfast: everyday items are presented on a magnified scale that reverses the traditional relationship between viewer and object. Oldenburg shrinks the spectator into a bite-sized morsel that might be devoured along with a giant piece of cake, or crushed by an enormous ice pack. His work shows us just how small we are, and serves as a vehicle for his smart, witty, critical, and often wickedly funny insights on American culture over the past half-century.

"I am for an art that is political-erotical-mystical, that does something more than sit on its ass in a museum."
Claes Oldenburg

Dear old Tusk he keeps rattling on about his opposition to a hard border in Ireland and then he sees no irony in demanding CONCRETE proposals ......

.... and he keeps referring back to having your cake and eating it, when a much better analogy would be the penny and the bun. Poor deluded muskrat little sod, nine-stone wet-through and marooned between Merkel and Macron, cared for by Jean-Claude. What a life! Wouldn't it just be a kindness to him for Mrs May to say, "Okay we'll stay, but only if there's free cake ....."?

I think if the UK does indeed stay, we will get much more than cake! That's for sure!!! I've never seen or listened to any Brexit justification with any hard substance attached to it whatsoever! It's all been full of lies, rhetoric, innuendo, no real ####### plans from the very beginning, highly questionable representation of the remain population in a lame campaign while there have been highly questionable financing and and voting tactics deployed by these shameless Brexit ######## and never properly challenged either!!!! Why??? Give me the re-vote asap and we'll see how democratic a vote that 1st one was because they will not not win such a rerun - not a f###### chance because the "people" will have well and truly spoken after being hugely enlightened!!! There's a huge protest in London against Brexit, I believe it's tomorrow! To anybody who has the time and belief against all this Brexit shit - BE THERE!!

Today someone on Radio Four put forward the suggestion that .......... wait for it ..................

A BACKSTOP TO THE BACKSTOP COULD BE THE WAY FORWARD

As imagery, as a metaphor .......... on what level can anyone even voice those words?

You might as well say KABU BLATT INFINABULUM DISPAXATRIX

Mate it doesn't make sense, you should start eating the dahlias and surrounding foliage immediately.

The words "going round in circles" seem to be appropriate Devongone eh lol! Now Saint Theresa looking to extend by another 3 years? Delaying until another general election methinks? And then Brexit eventually rejected?

Interesting to note how the big bad EU are standing 100% by the republic of ireland in all this. Compare and contrast with westminster snatching devolved power from scotland and taking us to the supreme court when we dare complain. The EU know who is really behind brexit, they aren't going to give them what they want, why the xxxx should they when these forces want to destroy them ?

Extend the transition period? These clowns have had 2 years to come up with a plan....why activate article 50 when you had no path forward? The EU have offered a deal unique to any nation outside the EU to the UK (basically norway/EEA with addons) and may can't take it because of her own party.

Unless may finds the bottle to face down the DUP and tell the brexiteers to do one the country is heading for a no deal brexit. Which would be utter insanity.

That's nothing new to any "enlightened" Scot eh! Where do we start on the bbc!!?? The list is endless and guy's like their Head Man in Scotland, Ian Small, seem to be oblivious to the continuous criticism that is levelled at his biased organisation in the way they address and challenge Scot Nat and govt officials in comparison with unionist figures like "the mooth" Davidson re issues like proved racism and sectarianism within the ranks of her own Scot Conservative party and that's one issue!! So much for that bastion of bbc credibility called impartiality and Small is no doubt being dictated to by bbc "Oxbridge infiltrators" in England, a disgrace!
