Who is gonna go to Russia 2018 after Boris's latest jibe!?

I think many England fans were already giving this upcoming World Cup tourney a cautious 'body swerve' on safety grounds and rightly so but this latest unthinking comment by Boris Johnson, comparing Putin's World Cup association with Hitler's previous manipulation of a major sporting event, would be final confirmation 'not to bother' attending this time around esp when lotsa Russians still remember the millions n millions of Russian soldiers, and others, who lost their lives in defeating Hitler during WW2.

Boris really is a complete bumbling idiot!!! Surely there are better, more qualified and tactful politicians within even the Conservative Party!! I certainly wouldn't be going, and if I did I would act like a tourist rather than a football fan abroad, I would wear a football shirt to the games only and not at other times. The one saving grace in all of this is the part that Boris is correct with in that Putin will want this tournament to pass of peacefully and for it to be a success so that his image is left intact both domestically and internationally, so I expect a huge police presence around all games and fan zones.

I can see a bit of cute logic/manipulation used by Mrs May in appointing the likes of Boris and David Davis (both natural embarrassments) in their relative political positions! She may just last a little bit longer as PM than many people anticipated! Rolleyes

Boris knows what he is doing. He has been deliberately angling for a war of words with the russians for a while now. The russian ambassador obliged yesterday, and absolutely put him back in his box.

The tories are trying to distance themselves from the russians, just as more and more evidence comes through about just how deeply russian oligarchs (who have robbed the russian people blind) are bankrolling the tory party. Putin is quite happy for them to pay tribute to him and carry on behaving like the mafia overseas.

In essence the same people who are creating the 'threat' to the UK that may bangs on about, have strong financial links to the politicians who are leading the UK.

English fans would be best avoiding this one, putin is ramping up the nationalist rhetoric and i wouldn't like to see supporters getting hurt.
