Sounds to me like we've pissed all the money away..
Carlos says if we'd needed to pay a fee for Boyd we wouldn't have signed him. So if not on a free we would have no signings thus far.
Other teams are taking the gamble because it's a possibility. And what difference would it make having an embargo? We don't sign players without one ffs!!!
Already fked this season up...

Should have got rid of the dead wood to free up some cash then Angry

It just smacks of incompetence and how were in this state at this stage is bewildering. Our biggest rivals are now in the same league and we still show no ambition..
This shit gets old.

I cant believe i pissed 110 quid away getting ready to watch the same shit as last year !!

1 signing and 6 players released (due to being out of contract).

While Wolves have splashed the cash and now bought 10 players in.

Exactly, kev.

Lots of teams have bolstered their squads to make a push, albeit gambling on FFP. We're placing an embargo on ourselves it seems. 10m for Rhodes is more of a gamble than pushing FFP I feel.
Irons should have been in the fire long ago, and if we're only just now at the point of admitting we bloated the squad with expensive signings that need to be improved upon then someone needs to go.
Another season where we sit and watch other clubs manage to make their targets with ease.. Then there's us, signing Boyd on a free because we couldn't afford a fee for him otherwise??

I'm already looking forward to the season after when more of these will be out of contract and CC along with them. 442 with the same muppets as before?
This really is the definition of insanity

What grates on me is that CC was saying even until this week that he wanted to sign a couple of centre backs. Now, his tune has changed to the FFP excuse. Just bs!!

I'm not feeling the doom and gloom that seems to be prevalent on here!! Sure I tend to be optimistic but we have a squad that finished 4th last season and have so far not lost any player of note from the first team squad, whereas a number of our perceived rivals have had to or were willing to sell a number of their best players from last season. Wolves have been the biggest buyers, so it will be interesting to see how they do but aside from them who else has signed anyone of any note that will dramatically improve their team??

Sunderland have lost just about any player that was worth anything and replaced them with McGeady and Vaughan!!!
Hull have lost their best players as well.
Boro have kept most of their team and added a couple of good players so they will be up there for sure.

Around our level of team last season:
Reading have bought one player but lost their best player Al-Habsi as well.
Fulham have signed a couple of younger players but lost 4 of their starting team from last season
L**ds have signed a few unknown players for decent money but have also lost 3 or 4 of their starting 11.
Norwich have signed 3 players for fees, but none that stand out but have lost all their keepers and half of their defence from last season as well as their star young winger.
Derby have signed 3 players, tow who look good signings but have lost arguably their 3 best players as well.
Brentford have signed a couple of youngsters with promise but have sold quite a few as well.
Villa have signed two aging players who may or may not work out but have lost two of their better players as well.

Nobody else has done anything of note but aside from us all teams have lost at least a couple of their first team from last season whereas we have kept hold of everyone so far that we would want to keep. There is still a month of the window to go and 10 days before the start of the season and to me we look in just as good shape as the majority of other Championship teams. FFP is just a smokescreen by the club to try to get decent players without having to spend silly money and as we near the end of the window we will see players moving for less money than they would now, so its a risk not paying the current rates but unless its a definite upgrade its probably better to wait.

Putting 2 + 2 =5. Smartass
From CCs interview about having a deal for an international agreed but then who didn't want to play in the championship I'm guessing Snodgrass (maybe Hanley ??) but who knows it could have been someone from Benin and not another Scot.

CC's tartan army, CC's tartan army Whistle

Plus 2 extra players Whistle from last season in Abdi and Matias (and a 1/2 for Joao) if they aren't season long injured by August 6th Doh and are up to playing on a cold wet Wednesday in Bolton, Burton etc etc

i agree with most of youre post charlie Whistle as far as the other teams are concerned i think youre 80% spot on

Villa have signed Terry whelan & alliackbar who could either be the best signings in the world and blow the league apart or get injured and do xxxx all apart from bleed the club dry ?

Boro is a strange one as they havnt realy changed there team since they went up so im not sure that they have any top class players anyway ? they do have a good manager in the way of boring feffing tactics so they will be there or there abouts with him alone Sleeping
wolves have gone mental and like Villa they will either blow the league apart are be blown apart themselves as trying to gel 10 new players in the championship is never going to be easy ?
Norwich have decided to go to sleep for a few seasons i feel as its something they do from time to time but be sure they will be back ... but not next season Thumb up
Derby have signed well but theyve lost Hughes who was the motor of the team for the last 3 seasons so its either a master stroke or a xxxx up Thumb up
Forest look good to me with warbutton and his new striker murphy theyve also got rid of that pile of shite assombablonga wanker who was a flash in the pan and has cost the club a fortune (watch out monk Whistle )
Sunderland look proper bobar but Grayson wont let teams take many points at there ground so they will be stable and there abouts for the playoffs and if they are they will be dangerous with fan support at least ?
Fulham Brentford cardiff and birmingham i dont give a flying xxxx about they havnt got a chance Smartass

And to us we wont budge from what we did last season exspect great wins bad draws and terrible thrown away losses we are the same which will see us in the playoffs but the fans have lost belief in this fro good reason so unlike the first time around we wont go into it confident and we will lose yet again and if this is to be along with derby losses to the pigs which i can see happening at least at the shithole and leeds at there shithole then it will be yet again another season in the bin Thumb down and its looking so obvious like this will happen that me and a few others have given up Thumb down we are that easy to read with cc Smartass
