Raith Rovers v Hibs - Sat 18 February, KO 3.00pm

Well this is an important away league fixture for Hibs and I'll take the 3 pts with any kinda performance that the boys can muster! An early goal and 'shut shop'? I'll take it esp preceding a Scottish Cup replay at a sold out ER Stadium! IMO this is an important period for us from a Championship perspective and a positive result will keep us 'ticking over' nicely in the lead up to this Derby match. Will Lenny rotate his players? I suspect he will do exactly that. Laidlaw to return to his 'home patch'? Boyle may well return although I'd rather see him on as an impact sub. I think McGeouch will be given a short run out as well, prob as a sub. Also 'fingers crossed' there are no more injuries!!!!
I'll guess Lenny's team as follows:-

Laidlaw
Gray McGregor Fonts Stevo
Humphrey/McGinn Shinnie Fyvie
McGeouch
Boyle Keatings/Cummings

Yogi recently appointed as Raith's new manager but hopefully little time to lift morale before the hibees arrive on the scene and I notice that their form is downright awful leading up to this game with very few positive results. It may well be a good time to play them. C'mon Hibs and enhance our top of the Championship position! Thumb up

Yup. I fancy utd to drop more points this month,so now is definitely the time to kick on and put the cup game to the back of our mind.

The worry ? Players thinking too much about midweek, their pitch is awful and of course we don't have the best of records at that ground.

I hope we play with the same determination and intensity as sunday.

United won't only have catching us on their minds but being caught and passed by Morton and Falkirk so they will have the pressure on them also.

Basically fed up with the players thinking they just have to turn up against "lesser" teams in order to win , no fight and no respect for the opponents. We only played for 30 minutes today and again gave a goal start. Didn't celebrate the goal and the only players to get pass marks were McGregor, Stevenson and Graham. Good freekick from Cummings but for the rest of the game he was poor. Too much tippy tappy football.

Wednesday is a sideshow and promotion is the main event. Would be nice to progress in both competitions but the Cup is not as important. If players are not picked for Wednesday they can knock on my door and I'll show them a replay of the Raith game.

Raging..... Thumb up

Ah, fair enough. The same attitude will do nicely on Wednesday then- lol, though doubt it. Probably a more important game for Hearts to win as you rightly state that Hibs really must get up at the end of the season and cup run could be needless distraction. No doubt come Thursday morning, that attitude might change mind you!!!!!.

He was absolutely right Jim - a classic critical post match interview and 'no prisoners taken'! He told them he expected a max effort to win this match v Raith but clearly lotsa players not heeding the warning eh!! 'And they expect to be playing in the cup replay huhhh' asks a raging Lenny esp when we could've been 9 pts clear of United tonight!!! His reference to recalling Pat Stanton from the ER W Stand was as scathing as it gets!! Possibly pass marks for only 3 x Hibs players who usually 'put in a shift' anyway!

This was something else he said IJ.....they will be up for it on Wednesday because of what it is.....he wants more urgency etc for the games against the ordinary sides.and games.

Lennon has called them out big time before - yet here we are again. I just don't believe the players we have are mentally strong and professional enough to do the business for us going forward. They may have won the cup but time and time again they have let us down, under stubbs as well mind - he couldnae get us to finish above falkirk ffs.

In short i don't trust a lot of them to show the right application, and if we do go up we are going to have to make major changes. I had a feeling this would happen as soon as a big cup game turned up.

At least the manager knows its not good enough,he basically said the night that he's wanted to change it sooner but didn't think the squad was big enough.
