Donald Trump - is the clock already ticking?

Obama's farewell has just been formally initiated and Trump's credibility is still massively under siege even before his official inauguration. I personally perceive that Trump is gonna be an impeached president, the question is when and where it will happen, and if the yanks had any sense they'd be calling for a re-election!! He clearly has lotsa 'muck' attached to him and it's not all irrelevant, contrary to many of the denials that his officials utter! There must be millions of punters looking at the odds of him being impeached well before the end of his term as US president. His situation is bizarre and Obama's cute little farewell jibes against Trump's awful behaviour and his policies just sums it up!

Just as a matter of interest, if Donald manages to take the oath of allegiance and he is then, legally or illegally, unable to continue as President, does his Vice-President then take over for the remaining term? A lot of shenanigans to come yet, methinks.

Lol! Yep, it's the most bizarre US political spectacle in the history of the nation, prob since it's independence!

No chance of a re-election as there are no legal grounds to have one. If he impeached or removed from office any other way then the VP would take over, and I for one would find that a different type of scary as Mike Pence would take this country back to the dark ages!!! Just like any country there is a succession for who takes over in the event of anything happening and that list is a long list of Republicans who could do a serious amount of damage to this country very quickly. The reality is the democrats completely screwed this whole election up, particualrly Hillary, and I cannot see any way they can get any power for the next 4 years. Looking at the republicans down the succession line, the Donald may just actually be our best bet to come out of these 4 years with something left to rebuild!!!

Aye! I'd go along with that view. The man's behaviour is abnormal and he's certainly too irrational and unfit to lead a nation like the USA - is he a closet psychopath?? I'm convinced he won't be in the oval office for long and he 'sealed his fate' months ago and is currently alienating his national security agencies while 'honeymooning' Putin and the Russians - bizarre!!! Almost everything trump does is bizzare but he has done such a good job discrediting the media over here that a lot of people are not believing what they are printing about him anyway. Plus he has never been held to the same standards we hold "normal" politicians to, and almost become sanitized to the crap he spouts or the argumentative and nasty way he says things!! He is definitely ADHD or on the autistic spectrum somewhere but there is a large part of the population here who still find him refreshing in a perverse way and allow him to get away with shit, it truly is something we have never seen before!!

Watching his press conference the night was car crash tv. The president of the USA acting like a sugar addled toddler, this is not going to end well believe me. The mans an idiot who has surrounded himself with bigots, racists, and other right wing crackpots. Never mind eh?, at least we haven't got Hilary.

"Hacking is a new thing... well relatively new" "fake news" "moral compasses" - I mean i was just howling with laughter at this cretin,at his hypocrisy, his lack of self awareness, his childlike idiocy. I seriously reckon he can't quite believe he got the gig yet.

The mans an utter dick. Anyone with a xxxx brain can see what a danger he is to us all.

There is some truth to your "at least we haven't got Hillary" statement though. Had she won this country would have been knee deep in legal challenges and litigation surrounding the "dirt" that followed her and Bill around and unless the Democrats had won the House and Senate with a decent majority (which is unlikely even had she won the election) then nothing would have been resolved or achieved at all. The Democrats made a huge mistake putting her up and Trump took complete advantage of that massive error. This election should go down in history as the election where the two main parties simultaneously put up the worst possible candidates they could but one of them had to win!!!

As regards his press conference today, this was the Trump that we saw every time he wasn't working from a script!! He has the vocabulary of a 5th grader and expresses his points like a teenage girl, short sentences with no substance!!! His hand gestures are very annoying and strange but maybe we should mock the afflicted!!! He cannot answer a question, cannot stay on topic and continues to say things in these situations that are plainly untrue!! He spouts stats that are well off the mark and acts like he is talking to a 4 year old child who will believe those stats with no questions, only to get annoyed with the media that questions the stats, at which point in a child like manner he refuses to talk to them any more!! I have never seen the media disrespect any President in this way when they were almost arguing back with him, yet he brings that disrespect onto him and ultimately onto the office itself!!

I'd rather have hilary as president than this moronic man-child. I feel sorry for the americans that didn't vote for him

Much of what I did make out from that garbled nonsense he spoke today .... is largely either impossible or he doesn't actually understand the way legislation works and the nature of the party he's the titular head of. Which is something else to be scared of.

He just can't handle the pressure at all and he isn't even in office yet. A twitter spat with meryl streep ffs....... Our only hope is that he ends up getting impeached.
