It will be january before he is fit,and by that point he will likely be paid off or binned. He knows now they can't beat celtic and i'll suspect he will take the low road home by the end of the year.

The way I see it
Rangers thought they where getting a decent experienced EPL standard player ...so pushed the boat out 21k per week FFS (allegedly to be weirs assistant manager if and when the great Warbs gets a EPL job, and NOT a warbs signing at all))
He turns up and is MR bigbaws and is not liked by the players (possibly due to his religion as well)
the fans love him as he is ripping the shite out of both the Celtic manager and Captain..... why Warbuton never shut him up at this stage was a shock to me, and now proves to be a huge mistake.
His performances are at best mediocre, but in a very average team
After the 5-1 game we all see how poor the team is, how oor Joey isn't up to it anymore.
Has a wee too do with a RRM and the manager
Rangers take the action in the hope of getting 21 k and a mediocre player off their wage bill.
The betting charge give more amo to that.
Rangers fans turn on Timmy Joey, lead by a concerted press campaign, compare and contrast Iain Blacks reportage to Bartons.
Rangers realise they really don't have enough to sack him, so suspend him (on full pay) as they struggle to build a case to get rid of for free
So yesterday, was he offered a pay off? if so he didn't accept or he would be away

At 34 will he be able to play at the top level again .....I wouldn't think so seeing his performances this season (regardless of what the press are telling us)
So will he go on the cheap? NOT a chance
He might go in January if he gets a similar or better offer, best case for rangers Pay him till Jan cost 12 weeks at 21k = quarter of a mill and total of 1/2 a mill for someone who played what 5 games??
worst he sits out his contract pocketing 2 million not to bad for less than 2 days work

Just another example of how poorly TRFC are being run.
Not that I'm complaining the half death existence they seem to be stuck in is so funny from my vantage long may it continue

My take on it is he wasn't a warbs signing, and he's nowhere near equipped to deal with a character like that in the dressing room. Now they realise he's pish they want him off the wage bill and away from the coach he called a "useless xxxx" in front of the squad.

Barton has played a blinder. Max publicity for his book, and if he wants he can sit back and enjoy the golf in Scotland on top dough til warbiolas inevitable departure.

Who knows they might get someone who actually knows what they are doing next. And with that in mind joey might take a payoff and do one in January.

The betting stuff is just noise.

Barton hasn't been PL standard for a few years but he did have a very good season last year with Burnley in their promotion from the Championship, where he won their player of the season. No matter what he is at the tail end of his career but at the time Rangers signed him I thought it was a decent signing, but the old Barton seems to have shown up. Last season his manager was Sean Dyche and I think he is a much better and more experienced manager than Warburton to be able to handle a character like Barton in the dressing room, and that has been part of his downfall imo.

Not convinced they would be able to sell him in January, particularly on the level of wages he is on, but there may be a couple of struggling Championship teams who might take a punt on him. I am sure Rangers are maybe hoping to be able to terminate his contract with the betting charges hanging over him, but that might take longer than January to sort. They may be stuck with a very expensive player for a while longer.
