Matt, it seems Nicola only said she supposed she would restart the debate. That's a long way off actually calling for one, then being given permission to hold one, then possibly 2 year's worth of talks on getting a deal on the terms of independence if she wins.

Nicola Sturgeon is indeed renewing the debate on Scottish Independence and the 'starting point' is when the findings of the Growth Commission are published shortly in a 400 page report doc. It offers the opp for an open debate on Scotland's future based on 'ambition and hope'. However, no date is set for another referendum and she is treading more carefully after a lotta negative events last year - lesson learned! The Scot indy movement is not moving so cautiously and the independence marches have began and are drawing huge numbers - they will continue at venues throughout Scotland! IMO start the debate again and let it gradually escalate, the name-calling is over (leave that to the unionists and their allies/media who are good at it and continually highlight any negativity attached to Scot indy and irritatingly ignore the positive aspects of self-determination eg a recent positive report on Scotland's economy and future prosperity - totally ignored on the orders of the British state!!!!) and lets 'win over' the sceptics within the Scottish population. It will be a gradual process that will escalate to an end point - another referendum and a certain vote for self-determination once the Scot govt, SNP and the Scot indy movement are unified (and many more cautious and like-minded Scot voters start to 'smell the coffee') and move at the appropriate moment. The 'better together' slogan? The biggest con ever incurred on a certain proportion of Scottish voters - a lie, a deception! Moves are already afoot to 'right that wrong', IMO a travesty to the future aspirations and ambition of my once proud country, Scotland!
