Just when you think you had seen it all

Play for a club in Division 6 South of the Palace Shield, which basically is a league for teams in Preston, Blackpool and a couple in the Lancaster area.
Today at 1.15 pm we had three men for a 1.30 start, no toss we bat. Game started at 1.45 as we now ha nine men, unsurprisingly we are struggling 17-5 when a high full toss bowls one of our lads. Bit of a discussion about whether ball was ;legal their umpire thinks it is and out is the decision.
Our captain refuses to let the next batsman go in therefore conceding the game. 60 mile round trip for that only good point my duck will get wiped from the history books. Shambolic.

Not knowing the finer points of cricket, why would a full toss thathits the wicket not be a legal goal??

A full-toss above waist height is considered a beamer, potentially dangerous to the batsman and therefore outlawed. Even if it hits the stumps, it's not a legal delivery.

Emergency meeting at the club on Wednesday looks like my part of the club will disappear only saving grace means every North End game next season

Not heard from the club apparently conceded today's game only found out on the opposition's Twitter feed.
