Berry Picked Up
#1
According to Football Insider James Berry is on his way to Wycombe Wanderers who outbid Blackpool. I suppose you can't fault the player for getting his career back on track, having started out with high hopes in Liverpool's Academy he ended up having to impress in non-league football to make his way to Chesterfield and gain promotion to the EFL.

Wycombe are ambitious, although lacking much of a crowd, it is doubtful that they will able to make a success of Championship football should they achieve it.

Best of luck to Berry. I liked him a lot and think we can ill-afford to lose him. Hope he makes Wycombe his next shop window.

Berry had it all except commitment. Good player with some classic goals but never seemed up for it when he started games. Shame he couldn't up his game from impact sub to first team player.
Hope he makes it at Wycombe. Not sure if he would've improved had he stayed with us.

I'm not sure commtiment was the problem. He had to fight even to get himself as high as Macclesfield. Coming on with 25 minutes to go and changing the game for Chesterfield has to be evidence of commitment doesn't it? Perhaps he's better when he thinks there is nothing to lose?

I reckon he was more of a nervous and slow starter at times.

The second problem is deciding the best position to get the best out of him. He scored goals up front at lower levels, but he seemed best for us coming from a bit deeper. I suppose what Wycombe ask of him will depend on whehther they lose any important players in the window.
