Celtic v Hibs - Saturday 7 December

I won't bother you with all the statistics buzzing around ahead of Saturday's game, suffice to say that the omens are not good. The game should be treated as a free hit and a gritty determined performance might be the best we can hope for from Hibs.

Celtic are already runaway leaders in the Premiership and don't show any signs of lessening their grip on that lead. If we can come away with the right performance and attitude and continue it against Ross County the following weekend, we can continue with our new-found optimism.

Having followed the game on the radio and watched the highlights on Sportscene, I think it's fair to say that we'll never have a better chance to beat Celtic on their own patch. We played attacking football with a flair and commitment rarely seen this season, but the end result is just not there.

Kuharevich is an exciting and talented player, but it's still a raw talent and he needs to have a cool head and a bit of finesse at the vital moment - witness Kyogo's delightful close control and finish for their third goal. Newell also passed up a great chance and we had even more chances in the second half. Schmeichel picked up the MOM award, but we made him look good.

The Old Firm are often feared at home, but we've shown that both of them can look fragile with the right attitude and intent. We just need to start doing that against the other teams and finish them off.

I'd say i thought we played pretty well, nice sharp one touch stuff at times. First half was wide open in particular it could have ended 3-3 quite easily. I cant remember us having so many chances there and not to take even one was really, really frustrating.

In the end it looks like they won comfortably but that was not the full story, the goals we ended up losing were pretty soft. Smith made some very good saves as well though to be fair.

End of the day we are back bottom and anything but 3 points v ross county will see a lot of the recent hopeful noises replaced by doubts again.
