Bolton Wanderers captain Ricardo Santos has signed a new three-year contract.

The 26-year-old, who moved to the Trotters from Barnet in August 2020, had a year left on his current deal.

He has made 91 appearances in his two seasons at Bolton - winning promotion from League Two at the end of his first campaign with the club.

"The one thing we're starting to do now is develop assets on the football pitch and Rico is one of those," manager Ian Evatt told the club website.

"There's been lots of interest (in him) but it shows that we mean business, we are doing the right things and can keep our best players. And Rico is definitely one of those.

"The true value of players is how easy they are to replace and, for me, Rico in this team is irreplaceable; the way he defends and his attributes with and without the ball are top class and really important for the way we want to play."

Bolton Wanderers midfielder George Thomason has signed a new deal to remain with the League One club until 2025.

The 21-year-old is out for two months of the season after dislocating his knee and tearing a ligament.

I'm proud and privileged to sign a new contract with this club," Thomason told BBC Radio Manchester.

"It's a great place for my development and I'm happy here. The manager is so ambitious and his coaching staff."

"The journey from when I joined and where the club is going now is in a positive direction and can only see that continuing, so it's really nice to be a part of."

Thomason, who picked up his injury against Bristol Rovers earlier in December, is in manager Ian Evatt's future plans at the club.

"He's a very young footballer and still has a lot to learn, but one of George's main assets is his attitude and mindset," Evatt told BBC Radio Manchester.

"He wants to learn, always asking questions, has leadership qualities, not just by example but also vocally and technically he can do everything.

"The one question mark before this season was the physical element, but he's lived in the gym and has really developed into an all-action midfield player."

Williams has made 22 appearances for Hull since joining them from Exeter in 2021, eight of them this season.

"Randell's signing is a good start for us in this transfer window," said Bolton manager Ian Evatt.

"He's a player we have admired for a long time who offers some serious blistering pace down that left-hand side, and that kind of attacking prowess that Conor [Bradley] does for us on the right."

Williams could make his Wanderers debut in Saturday's home game against leaders Plymouth.

Bolton Wanderers have signed veteran striker Cameron Jerome on an 18-month deal after he was released by Luton.

The 36-year-old had his contract with the Hatters terminated by mutual agreement earlier on Friday.

Jerome, who has scored 137 goals in 614 league appearances, could make his Trotters debut at Charlton on Saturday.

"He's played at the top level, in Europe and played 50-odd times in the Championship in the last two years," boss Ian Evatt told the club website.

"People shouldn't be mis-guided by his age. His physical data is still unbelievable and he's in incredible shape.

"We're signing him because we think he can have an affect on the team and help us."

Jerome started his career with Cardiff in 2004 and went on to have spells in the Premier League with Birmingham, Stoke, Crystal Palace and Norwich.
