Nations League: Armenia v Scotland
#1
Well this is already a "must win" match for Scotland players, many of whom looked like their season was over v ROI and lacking conviction and impetus to win that match in Dublin. One can only hope that Clarke can find the right team and players who can take on and beat a fairly weak Armenia side. They won't do it if they show up with the same shit attitude and tactics deployed in Dublin.

FT and a good 1-4 win for Scotland after going a goal down early in the match, Scotland's "3 men at the back" defence "all over the place" in the 1st half and still deserving of a post mortem now the footie season is over for the players. We could've been 3 goals down after 25 mins, it was that bad defensively!! And what a lucky break to see an Armenian player sent off on two yellow cards due to a lack of discipline - Armstrong's 1st goal followed within mins to make the score 1-2 Scotland just before HT. Anyway, the main thing is we got the result and we are "in with a shout" in Group B2 come September, but the guys must play much better than this v better opponents. Stuart Armstrong definitely the MOTM in this game and thank god from Clarke's point of view, Armstrong scoring a "brace" of goals and really could've bagged a "hat trick" tonight. John McGinn finally scoring a goal after a long wait and getting into the all time top ten list of Scotland goal scorers with 13 goals. Adams also scoring a goal at last. Steve Clarke needs to go away for a long break and ponder over what went wrong and what are the positives going forward to the next stage of the campaign.

Honestly don't know why Armstrong doesn't get more of a chance, and personally i quite like wee Che Adams but he has looked dead on his feet in these games. Just underlines our lack of attacking options.

A big ask to beat ukraine in poland next....but not impossible if we can get back to our best.

John McGinn saying last night lotsa players, incl him, "dead on their feet", but asked to give it everything they could in the first hour and see how it goes. Time for a holiday for most of them.
