Although I am disappointed that Rangers have failed to regain our top flight status, I am also glad that we have not done this via the Play-Offs.
I have been thinking of Season 1970-1971, when we (who were there then !) were hoping Aston Villa would bounce straight back from the Third Division. We did not, finishing fourth eventually, with a losing (but not disgraced) day out at Wembley for the League Cup Final as a highlight.
The next Season we took the Third Division by storm, with our most wins and highest points ever gained in a Season.
I trust Season 2015-2016 will see Rangers do the same in SPFL2, putting Heart of Midlothian's triumph this Season into the shade !
For Rangers to return to the top flight as (hopefully) unbeaten Champions of SPFL2 would be far more in accordance with the traditions and history of Rangers than to have crawled back in from SPFL2 third place through the play-offs.
