Rangers Player of the Year

Voting is currently available on the official website for PotY and Young PotY. From the shortlisted nominees the latter has to be McKay for me, but it's very hard picking out our best player this season. Tavernier shades it for me on the basis of how good and how important his contribution was in the first few months. As well as the goals he's scored I think he's probably got most direct assists by some distance. Waghorn has also been hugely impressive and important, although I was surprised to see Miller has scored as many league goals in open play. Mind you, Miller himself has been inspirational, as has our captain, Wallace, who has marshalled the the team brilliantly and has turned in innumerable excellent performances, providing goals and assists. McKay could be a decent shout for PotY as well as YPotY given his outstanding form and application throughout the season. Then there's Holt, who has probably been our most important midfielder and his linking and direct running have cut through defences all year.

And there are others who have done an excellent job for us who you could be totally justified in voting for.

It's an absolute pleasure to be so spoiled for choice.

This is from 24/03/2016. The POTY has a drop-down list, YPOTY has five to pick one from.

There was originally a shortlist of 5 nominees for PotY too but this since been expanded to the whole squad. Just as well as I was a bit surprised by who was and wasn't on the original list.

Since I'm up late:

POTY = the one and only Lee Wallace

YPOTY = the also one and only Barrie McKay

PPOTY and Top Goal Scorer = the soon to be back at his goal scoring best Martyn Waghorn

GOTS = James Tavernier (for goal in Petrofac final.)

John Greig Special Achievement Award = Lee Wallace (greedy b'stard grabbing two awards!)
