Scottish Cup final: Celtic v ICT - A world record domestic "treble" up for grabs!
#1
So this final looming ever closer and kicking off tomorrow at the bizarre time of 5.30pm - bad show SFA, should've stuck to the favoured 3.00pm KO that suited all parties. Anyway, Ange and co fully focused on the ultimate prize of another Scottish Cup, but a world record "treble" achievement, one of 8 x "trebles" if they are successful. I think Ange knows what his starting line-up will be after testing things out v the Dons last weekend. I reckon this is a potential 4-0 or 5-0 victory for the Hoops - depends very much if ICT can "hang in there" during the early stages of this match when Celtic will likely "go for the jugular" and try to party as early as poss. As usual, bad refereeing could play a part in causing some probs for the Hoops although all players will be well primed to be careful and aware of that threat.

FT 3-1 and Celtic win the Scottish Cup again for the 41st time and also become the world record holders for the number of domestic "trebles - 8 x "trebles" recorded after today's victory. This was actually a poor final in my humble opinion although the ICT players put up a good rear guard action until Kyogo showed us why he is the Scot Prem POTY - a deadly strike after being dormant up to that pivotal moment when a crucial opening goal was required - done it in other cup finals and delivered again!. To their credit, Caley-Thistle didn't "crumble" and made it difficult for Celtic to "seal the deal" in style although ICT had very few decent forward forages up front apart from their late goal - good to see a great pinpoint cross from young Duffy for Mackay to head a vg goal that gave the 6k ICT fans something to cheer about. Celtic's response almost instantaneous with a back post header to make the score 3-1 and ensure a huge Hoops' party starting prematurely on a lovely sunny evening at Hampden Park. Noted that Ange's sub actions were significant again with Abada being a big contributor to the final result. Celtic definitely not at their best, but always in control and job done!

Thought the game was rubbish, Sellick played in 3rd gear throughout or perhaps like a team that know their manager is for the off..... ICT did well and scored a great goal but i don't think the result was ever in doubt once they got the first goal.

Callum McGregor has 20 winners medals now - and has won all 12 of the finals he has played in at Hampden. A terrifying stat if you are of a sevco persuasion.

Once again Kyogos importance to the team is underlined, a terrific wee penalty box striker. Going Bt APs body language he is leaving Celtic over the summer, I wonder if AP will take him with him when he goes ?

If that is the case, Brendan Rodgers to return for a second stint????? OR a risky punt on Graham Potter??? Both currently unemployed, but a Euro CL campaign to possibly attract interest Rolleyes

Interestingly Rodgers has been seen at a couple of their games recently....As has Dermot Desmond. It takes something special to get his arse off the golf course.

Indeed on the radio there saying Ange is going to be appointed new Spurs manager
