So Durranty has been bumped down to the u-20s (the media have turned it into a public embarrassment for him so I won't be surprised if he leaves) and Durie has been made assistant to McDowall. The most obvious reason for that would be that we're going to be clearing the decks and using the youth players more. Durie has been the one working with them so it would make sense for him to be involved in the first team if they get moved up (we also have a number due to return from loan in January). We might finally get to see how things will pan out if we try to get promotion using youth ahead of experience. Of course that would be dependent on us actually being able to get rid of existing players and McDowall's selection policy.

I'm prepared to give the guy a chance. And in all fairness i never understood Durrants role.
Given his record with youth Durie is an obvious choice .
Onwards and upwards.

Wait, what? McCulloch is now a first team coach? Where did that come from?

The website article stated that Lee McCulloch has got his coaching badges, so why not put theory into practice on the training ground as well as in matches ?
Trusevich has critcised McCulloch for poor positioning, so maybe the man himself will better understand the importance of positional play from now on !

Larry, the problem is that McCulloch is out of position whenever he steps over that white line.
It remains to be seen whether McDowall, or even McCulloch himself will magically develop the ability to see his proper position just by changing their job titles, or not.

Given McDowall's interview it doesn't bode well, for anything other than normal service resumed.

I think Neil McCann wasn't far off the mark. McDowall doesn't look like he wants to be there at all.
