Big Sam appointed

Really not sure what to think about this.

Sunderland seem to have failed miserably in their previous appointments and if nothing has changed - nothing seems to have, then this will only go one way:
- Big Sam keeps them up,
- Big Sam gets a huge bonus,
- Big Sam gets no funds in the summer
- Big Sam leaves the next year after a poor start.

In itself, Big Sam is not a bad choice of manager. Previous history with the club and a track record of hoof ball and survival. He'll do them road this season. But can't really see it changing things. I have a feeling that there needs to be a major change in ownership and backroom personnel before Sunderland break out of this painful 'groundhog day'.

I think in their current position this is about as good an appointment as they could have hoped for. It won't be pretty but he will make then more difficult to beat and if they have any chance of staying up it won't be by playing like Brazil!!!

But I think you are right about the need for a complete overhaul at the club. While relegation would be painful they should be able to rebuild and come back stronger. But let's not write them off just yet, long way to go and they at least have tried to change things, unlike their neighbors and the Brolly man!!
