Scottish managers in the Premier League
#1
Aston Villa's sacking of manager Paul Lambert on Wednesday marked the end of an era.

Since its inception in 1992, the Premier League has always had at least one Scottish manager in its ranks. As recently as 2011, there were seven in the top flight at the same time. Now there are none.

It's a sad state of affairs for a nation that has produced such managerial luminaries as Sir Matt Busby, Bill Shankly, Jock Stein and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Very good article and probably not going to change anytime soon, EPL mentality means usually when appointing a manager

1/ Same old names in the hat

2/ Go Foreign

Only a matter of time before Mcnamarara, Hartley and McInnes go onto bigger things but this is more likely to be the bigger Championship clubs before the EPL give them a chance

Ive long been touting Steve Nicol and John Spencer for jobs in their home country after success in the USA

Although Aston Villa may want to go for Ally McCoist Wink

If I am right,
The competition is now organized by the SPFL, the body formed by the merger of the SPL and SFL in 2013. Bill Struth, with Rangers in 1946–47, was the first team manager to win the competition.
and it did great job
