Shrewsbury town centre is certainly one of the least worst places you could spend some time in round these parts. I take it you're driving because the Shrewsbury North is a hike and a bit out of town. That most of the town centre is in a loop of the Severn means you can find yourself walking round in ever decreasing circles and wondering how you found yourself back at the same spot you were in half an hour previously when you were sure you were heading somewhere else. In places it's a bit like a compact version of York or Chester. The Severn floods quite often too. I often smile when Radio Shropshire breaks in on the car radio with traffic reports. "Long delays on Castle Foregate" and at Dobbies Island. Oooh! Must be 4 tractors waiting at the traffic lights this morning.
A guide to cask ale.
