India's sole consolation is Virat going home with a new tournament record tally, but like Tendulkar twenty years ago, all the runs on the road to the final are worth nothing unless you can do it against Australia when it matters. If Shami had got himself on a roll today he might have had a record too, but it was one more thing that wasn't to be.
