Danger Man

Viktor Einar Gyökeres (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈɟøkɛrɛʃ];[3] born 4 June 1998) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Championship side Coventry City and Sweden national team.

He made his senior debut with Swedish side Brommapojkarna in 2015 with whom he made over 50 appearances before signing for Brighton three years later.

He has also represented Sweden at various youth levels and was the joint-top goalscorer at the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, before making his senior international debut in 2019.

Ched Evans will be back in contention for PNE, having served the four-game suspension he was given retrospectively for an incident in the home game against Bristol City.

Meanwhile, Ben Whiteman will serve the final game of his ban and Robbie Brady will also miss out following his late red card in the victory over Wigan Athletic.

Mark Robins’ side are no doubt full of confidence having won each of their last three Championship fixtures, coming out on top against Millwall, Rotherham United and Sunderland.

After initially joining on loan in January 2021, Viktor Gyökeres has been a revelation at Coventry City since his permanent move in July later that year.

The Sweden international netted a hugely impressive 17 Championship goals last season and he’s well on his way to bettering that tally this term, with 15 already to his name.

The 24-year-old has scored in each of the last three fixtures, and his goal and assist in their last game, against Sunderland, marked his 100th appearance for the club.

Busby showed two yellow cards as he oversaw PNE’s 1-0 win over the Sky Blues in August, while his other North End game this campaign was the 1-0 home victory over Swansea City at the beginning of November.

Surprised at Cov this season given the nightmare start to the season when they couldn't play at home due to Ruby Union screwing up the pitch actually thought they would struggle but having a decent manager is always a godsend

Well it says thre were 13000 on somehow suspect that is being generous however those who didn't go missed a fairly decent game and in truth a draw was a fair reflection of the game.
The natives on Twitter were happy with the performance which makes a change, the performane was better than it's been for weeks although that standard didn't was not hard to beat.
Coventry now have not won in 21 league games at Deepdale looked the more likely in the first half, Doyle shot well saved by Woodman whilst two chances fell the way of Allen, first great cross fell between the two centre backs Allen fired just over, the second rapid break had loads of space and time shot straight at Woodman easy save.

Once we had taken off Cannon and the impressive Evans we looked to have run out of ideas, City had two late chances both ended up in teh crowd, fair result, the land of Elton John on Saturday awaits.

"I'm disappointed we couldn't get three points. We tried but lacked a little bit of quality in the final third in terms of chances.

"We played some fantastic stuff against a very good team. The effort and determination was all there and we looked a little bit back to ourselves, creating a lot of chances on the front foot and getting in their faces.

"We were excellent all over the pitch. I'm very, very pleased with the performance. If anyone looked like they were going to score, it was us."

Coventry City boss Mark Robins told BBC CWR:

"It had 0-0 written all over it - there was no real control. We had some decent patterns at times but nothing consistent. Ben Wilson had very little to do and their goalkeeper was worked.

"We fashioned a couple of half-chances. Jamie Allen went through in the first half and really should have scored, then we lost him at half-time to an injury and he'll be out for a while. The reality of it is, we just haven't got the depth of players. There's no chance.

"Fatigue is a big thing. It feels flat because you're looking at trying to kick on and it's very difficult, which has been the way throughout my tenure. It's a point gained, really. We've not got anything here for a long time."
