Fleetwood Town 2 Sunderland 1

Sunderland's hope of automatic promotion disappeared after a defeat at Fleetwood, havingt dominated the first half and should have been more than one goal ahead they failed to capitalise in the second half and lost to a 95th minute winner by the home side.
The sizeable away support in a crowd of 4011 must now look forward to the play offs and an honest opinion is that they may be arriving at Fleetwood again next season.
Early Fleetwood pressure soon subsided as Sunderland clicked into gear, Cattermole and Power dominated midfield with Maguire causing the home side problems down the wing. Grigg was denied by home keeper Cairns chasing a through ball, Power should really have scored after a good team move down the right, should have gone for power from 10 yards out Cairns saved his isde footed effort at the second attempt and then Grigg hit the bar from the edge of the box.
Was no surprise when Cattermole scored on the half hour from a corner what was a surprise I caught it on film



Fleetwood got a bit more into the game before the break with Hunter hammering a shot into the house behind the Percy Ronson End(they used six balls during the game)

Second half early stages Sunderland were comfortable but were harried a bit more by Fleetwood, the introduction of Sowerby made a difference to the home side however penalty area action wa in short supply until out of the blue Fleetwood scored, from where I sat it looked like Coyle may have been offside however nothing ws given, his cross into the box was converted by Madden.
This stirred Sunderland into action they forced a series of corners, Oviedo was only denied a good opportunity by a last ditch home tackle, before the late kick in the nadgers.
Wallace got into a dangerous position his cross was cleared for a corner which he took and Hunter headed home to win the game for the Cod, little time as left after the restart.
So the play offs for the Black Cats won't be easy for them.
