Couple of years ago Leicester City won the EPL , some seem to forget or it will never happen again(!)

Apparently Man Utd need another 4-5 players to win the title
Man City are that far ahead etc

Leicester simply won the title with a combined team and a style of play who gelled
Different era you may say but Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa both won the title among lot traditionally bigger and bigger spending clubs for the same reason and even did it on the European stage to follow

Guadiola and Man City gelled this season, he already has a super scorer and existing playmakers who can win games, he has spend considerable money on a backline which last season did not fit his tactical ideology, the full backs he uses now are much more mobile thus when they have the ball Citeh almost play 2-4-3-1

Two years down the line and Leics have already been consigned by the Football public to be below Man C, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and perhaps Everton
Is Eight place all the EPL winning team of two years ago aspire to?

Much of the spine of the team is still there only the losses of Kante and Drinkwater
Harry Maguire has been a fine player largely replacing the aging Wes Morgan
Ndidi whilst not the finished article has been a super defensive midfielder

Does Money talk so much that Leics cant be top four again and prove team/tactics over money?

I get your sentiment but in hindsight Leicester won the EPL not just because they were good all season but becuase the traditional top 6 were almost to a man going through transition or a poor season. Doesn’t diminish what Leicester achieved, they had the perfect team performance virtually all season.

I do think the loss of Kante was crucial, Vardy and Mahrez may have taken the headlines but Kante was the engine of the team.

As regards money, then yes it does talk. Look at the spending since Leicester won the title by the top 6, it is massive by comparison to every one else. Leicester lost a couple of their best players, replaced them with players not as good and essentially fell behind the progress being made by the others. Chelsea of course benefitted the most as their poor season the year Leicester won it meant that they had no European football at all the following year and they were able to win the title.

As a Man Utd fan you certainly hear Chequebook Manager a lot and how much we have spent which in reality is no more than Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG etc
I think the difference between Jose and the last two managers is the unity he has brought to the side, now they actually play as a team again however I`m not always struck on the quality of the football
For me now it`s not about another 4-5 players to catch Man City, it`s about making the most of who is there and that includes some superb young players on the edge, I`d prefer we didn't buy anybody it`s fine tuning an excellent squad

One of the many things Leicester had was the same team Schmiechel/Simpson/Fuchs/Morgan/Huth/Drinkwater/Albrighton/Vardy/Mahrez/Okazaki mainly all the way through, they knew their roles they were familiar with each other (Similar to Clough`s best Forest years) , I dont believe all the money in the World can make a team suddenly click.
