Carthoss said when he decided to let Helik go that we were well covered in that area and had injured players returning, so it made sense to cash in on a player who he had promised to sell if a Championship club came in for him........

Today we had Ollie Turton and David Kasumu playing centre back!

Can't blame the Director of Football for all the imjuries can we though. Yes we bloody well can.

CARTWRIGHT OUT!!!!!!!

The one positive is that we are somehow still fifth in the table, with two games away from the toxic atmosphere of the John Smith's Stadium coming up.

But that was really, really poor today. Probably the worst home performance I've ever seen. And I've said that at least a dozen time since we were in the Premier League. Sad

And if he's not bringing Ayina on when two central defenders have gone off, why is he even on the bench?

But have Cartwright and duff lost nagle is the key question.

I swerved today and I'm becoming more and more likely to swerve more in the future. The malaise set in a long time ago at the club, before the takeover. The trouble is that it is turning into a cancer and I don't really know how we rip it out, other than a full reset but even then it's not guaranteed and we'd still have to keep some over.

Carthoss has to go. He has to go today. The job should be advertised and the best candidate selected by a panel of highly respected supporters, chaired by Nagle should get the job.

By saying highly respected supporters, I mean not anybody from DATM or potty mouthed idiots on X. Former players like Glennon or Nat Clarke and Jacko should have a say.

Edwards appears to be clueless as to how this club should be run, but that's just how it appears to me. He could be doing a grand job for all I know.

Then it's up to the new DoF to decide whether Duff stays or goes.

But the main thing is that Carthoss should be shown the door. He's making Leigh Bromby look good. Doh

I agree Cartwright should go as well. He’s made some decent signings but we have more crocks than players and that’s because we’ve signed a lot of crocks from the start, we’ve gambled on too many of these and it’s showing

Some more observations on the game....

In the first half, a Peterborough player was heard clearly to shout "f*** off" at somebody in the crowd. Just by the dug outs, would've been clearly heard by the fourth official. Didn't that kind of thing used to be a red card offence? Foul and abusive language.

Our only shot on target during the game came after the ref had blown for a foul on Hoggy. It was a tidy finish from Koroma, but was that only because the defenders had stood and let him get the shot off? The keeper dived for it as I recall, but did he try to save it?

Tidy finish anyway. Shame the ref blew up too soon. Dickhead!

To be fare, he waved play on later in the game while shin high tackles clattered in and we got nowhere fast.

But we had the ball Doh

That said, were crap against a side with the worst defence in the division and had no away wins since August. The coach didn't set us up to win from set plays or open play and we don't have enough players who are capable of working it out for themselves often enough. I said my thing about Duff Duff during our first run of defeats and a few games apart, I'm still of the same opinion.

Without going back and looking, did all those goals Lapado scored for Ipswich back in the day bounce in off various parts of his body while he stood on the 6 yd line or penalty spot because he's got the first touch of a brick wall that's facing the wrong way and a shot that's got all the power of a soft back pass? Don't get me started on what he thinks is a one-two. I used to play 5-a-side with a lad that bad who had to re-tie his laces 3 or 4 times in an hour (his mum never showed him the double bow) and had the stopping distance and turning circle of The Queen Mary. I've probaly still got bruises 30-40 years later from being walled up and floored by him. Not sure Lapado is much of an improvement.

Not just the coach though is it? Cart'hoss and the rest aren't doing it.

Compared to previous lads that were here on loan - Smith Rowe, Chilwell, Colwill - all had "future England International" written all over them from the first game. I'd take any one one of those over all the current 4. So who picked the current 4?

The current 4 and the other total (Stoke flavoured?) disasters from last season aren't in anything like the same class. None have really stood out as being way better than what we have, though I'd say Chirewa might get a run in a Championship promotion playing side next season if we don't totally destroy his confidence.
A guide to cask ale.
