Exeter is one of the nicest clubs around, fan owned, decent, good men at the top of the Trust and now they've gone and appointed Gary Caldwell as their new manager.
In the history of the cruddy decisions that have resulted in Chesterfield playing in the National League the appointment of Gary Caldwell must top the pile. He is Mr Clueless. This man spent two weeks training the team to play with a back three and then brought in five new players all aged 20 or under the day before the game.
He blamed the players whenever complex tactical plans didn't work and sat smug in his natty suit whenever the players, literally, from on the pitch, mid-game, were asking what they were supposed to be doing.
The problem is Caldwell has ideas and can sound convincing, but like Liz Truss, he has no notion of the consequences. Ask Partick Thistle.
Any club in the Championship or Division One in need of players should take a long look at Exeter in the transfer window. For instance, would Jevani Browne get in Huddersfield's side at the moment, would he add a touch of much needed class at Cardiff? Do I even need to ask? Surely a couple of months under Caldwell will end his attachment to Exeter?
Please Mr Caldwell don't bullshit a good club all the way back to a relegation struggle in Division Two before they ditch you?
