Sad to hear today of the passing of Walter Smith. An ordinary, average football player who aspired to much greatness in his coaching/managerial career, with Utd, Rangers, Everton, Scotland and Rangers finally. One of the old school, if only we could produce more of the same. Mr Smith, RIP. Condolences to your family

Sad news. Its a strange feeling watching all these figures from the game when you were younger passing away. Thats both him and his auld gaffer Jim Mclean gone in a year for instance.
A real giant of the game in Scotland and he was a great manager for both Rangers and national team. By all accounts away from the game a very decent man too.
RIP.
