Did they get the wrong Hamza? - Devongone - 10-05-2019

"Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury has been fined £5,000 and ordered to attend an education course for historical comments made on social media.

The 21-year-old has admitted an "aggravated breach" of Football Association rules after comments posted between 20 June 2013 and 10 May 2014.

In one post he included a racial reference, and in another he said he did not "feel sorry" for anyone who took their own life.

He apologised for the posts last month.

In a statement on Friday, the FA said that "the posts, which included reference to ethnic origin and/or race and/or sexual orientation, were found to be abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute".

The England Under-21 international has also been warned about his future conduct."

Oh FFS I'm gay and I don't care what Hamza thought about sexual orientation when he was 16. Apparently he is likely to be fined £1,000 for an incident in 2010 when he forgot his dinner money, a year later he apparently forged his mum's signature on a note to get out detention and a special FA Committee has been formed to investigate several incidents of him bunking off school between 2011-13.

The FA let unfit idiots take over and ruin football clubs for entire communities without batting an eyelid and they spend time investigating the opinions of a 16 year-old who probably wasn't interested in anything much beyond football and how to experience sex without his parents finding out.

Might they just have confused him with another Hamza entirely? Maybe he's not the only one who needs an education course.

Saw this and nearly posted a thread

Looked up also the difference between UK free speech VS Hate speech laws and both are highly contradictory of course and open to interpretation, especially by anyone wanting to push their own political/religious/personal agenda

Cannot say I like what he`s saying but he`s a 16 year old Footballer hardly doing a Doctorate in Byzantine studies is he? These are Historical comments, what next complaining to the EU that the Romans crucified Jesus?

Wouldnt anyone with half an amount of sense just look at these social media comments and just think "Idiot, should no better" and move on ?

All of this could have been dealt with behind closed doors, just let the PFA have a word and sit down with him, explain what he can and cannot do as a footballer in the modern era and move on while monitoring his social media!!! Instead, a kid might now have to carry this baggage with him for his whole career, particularly if he goes on to be a good player or international, this will get brought up everytime he is mentioned. Just ends up being self defeating.
