Le Tissier - turkeydinner - 06-09-2018 Time for a Soton thread: Read an article a few days back on how would Matt Le Tissier fare in today`s game This wasn't so much a take on the man`s sublime skill level , back in his playing days pretty much only 2 sides in the EPL would play with three at the back or one up front In today`s 4-3-3 heavy EPL Ive no doubt his level of skill would succeed if deployed right but the question was more about his work-rate and the modern use of "The pressing game" The best comment was Le Tiss would be deployed nowadays as a centre back who could play the ball out from the back Has the modern game still time for the supremely talented stroller? How would Ginola fare? RE: Le Tissier - St Charles Owl - 06-09-2018 Not just them, but Hoddle and even Waddle would probably struggle in a side that had a team press ethos. Come to think of it George Best would as well!!! I suppose there has to be times when the sheer talent outweighs to defensive duties!! |
