Le Tissier - turkeydinner - 06-09-2018

Time for a Soton thread:

Read an article a few days back on how would Matt Le Tissier fare in today`s game

This wasn't so much a take on the man`s sublime skill level , back in his playing days pretty much only 2 sides in the EPL would play with three at the back or one up front

In today`s 4-3-3 heavy EPL Ive no doubt his level of skill would succeed if deployed right but the question was more about his work-rate and the modern use of "The pressing game"

The best comment was Le Tiss would be deployed nowadays as a centre back who could play the ball out from the back

Has the modern game still time for the supremely talented stroller? How would Ginola fare?

Not just them, but Hoddle and even Waddle would probably struggle in a side that had a team press ethos. Come to think of it George Best would as well!!! I suppose there has to be times when the sheer talent outweighs to defensive duties!!
