PFA Manager of the Year 2016 Nominations - Trusevich - 26-04-2016

As nominated by their peers:

Peter Houston (Falkirk)

Jim McInally (Peterhead)

Jim McIntyre (Ross County)

Mark Warburton (Rangers)

Obviously for us it's an easy choice - the transformation of our team and club in such a short time has been a work of near genius.

Jim MacIntyre is a fair shout too, top six and a league cup with a tight budget and all the problems that come with trying to recruit to the Highlands isn't easy, but he's built a good team that fits the community outlook of the club. A real credit to Ross County and the Highlands.

No surprise that 50% the BBC article is more concerned with the managers who haven't been nominated - mainly Ronny Deila. No, seriously.  Laugh

Jim MacIntyre has done a brilliant job and I think he deserves it.

I think Ronnie deserves some sort of award: without him Celtic might have been streets ahead, with a lean squad, dominating domestically, competing at a reasonable level in Europe and with solid fan support and an easily predicted income via ticket sales.

Instead they have a squad of over 40 players, including 1 recognisable striker and another 20 or so players you can't name without google. They will effectively limp over the line to get another league title and both major domestics cup will be elsewhere. On top of that they have a very disaffected fan base.

Rangers meanwhile have got themselves a forward thinking and well motivated manager and a relatively young squad who played Celtic off the park in our most recent encounter, our fans are jubilant and there may even have to be a ballot to see who can get one of the available season tickets, with walk-ups at an absolute premium during the season ahead.

If I could vote for Ronnie...

I think you're not far off there, TWG.

I was particularly impressed with the way he dealt with the Kris-Commons-tantrum issue. If he'd not meekly surrendered his dominance and control over his players' behaviour it most likely would have ended badly for him. It was, in hindsight, a masterstroke and he's gone on to reap the benefits ever since.

I think there should be calls for clarification over the unmerited exclusion of Ronny from this year's vote.

I also think a strong mention has to go to Alan Stubbs. After all he did not sell Scott Allan to Rangers, and we can all see what a huge difference that made to their season.

Kris "you cant sub me, the fans don't like it, see" Commons.

Wanker should have been sold, it might have sent a sold message to the rest of the squad.

Strikes me that Deila is actually a decent bloke, trying just that bit too hard to fit into a world he doesn't fully understand and getting the blame for other people's decisions - how many of the multitude of signings were his choices? Very few I reckon.

He'll be glad to be out. Shame because I reckon Warburton would have tied him in knots.

To be quite honest, it really has to be Mark Warburton. Almost single-handedly (step forward Davie Weir as magician's assistant) he has transformed Rangers. I've always been an admirer of his and he did exactly the same with Brentford.

I agree Ritchie.....out of the nominations it has to be Warburton. He has had a good season with the gers.

He is tactically inept and was found out big time this season. Nor was he strong enough with the senior players who undermined him. A recipe for disaster.

I actually think he's dealt with the whole departure issue with as much dignity as possible and your right he seems like a nice enough fella.

My choice for manager of the year would be mcintyre - think he has done fantastic on a very limited budget.
