Merry Christmas ???????? - Beefy 1965 - 04-12-2015

Over the festive period in the last two seasons we have been awful
12 games over a busy period .......
How many we won ?
This is from the Birmingham Mail earlier ..........

December has been a traditionally poor month for West Bromwich Albion.

In the past few seasons we’ve gone through bad starts and really good starts, but one thing seems to stay consistent with the Baggies and that is that there’s usually always a blip in form around the Christmas period.

In the last two seasons, the Baggies have only won one out of 12 games in December. That solitary win was last season’s 1-0 victory over rivals Aston Villa courtesy of Craig Gardner and the one and only Alan Irvine.

Time for a change ..... Thumb up

So.....December this month:

Spurs (H)
Liverpool (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Swansea (A)
Newcastle (H)

Surely there's at least 7 points there for us - and any return from the first 2 games may be seen as a bonus which could really be built on? Confused

At least? It would take FIFA levels of corruption for us to get more than that!

As Drewks says, we should be able to pick up some points from that fixture list but since when did anything go as expected at The Hawthorns?

Not that bothered about the two upcoming; anything's a bonus.

Got a feeling the games over Christmas will be banana skins. Bournemouth are a fast, mobile team who are fighting tooth and claw every week, while Swansea always tend to do us at their place. Couple that with the fact that Albion usually get complacent when we're not in dire straits ourselves (see the QPR and Leicester games in spring) and I think we might have ourselves a festive wobble.

Of course, if we don't beat Newcastle then we'll need a proper kick up the arse, because they're shocking this season. Hopefully with a bare minimum of three points we'll still be on course for the season as a whole without a sweat even if every other game goes wrong.
