FA Cup upsets - spireitematt - 14-09-2014 Everyone loves an underdog and everyone loves an FA Cup upset. Lets start with Hereford United vs Newcastle United 3rd round 1972 RE: FA Cup upsets - Lord Snooty - 14-09-2014 Your lot almost had one of the competition's best upsets in 1997, matt. If it hadn't been for the blind ref. RE: FA Cup upsets - spireitematt - 14-09-2014 (14-09-2014, 21:24)Lord Snooty Wrote: Your lot almost had one of the competition's best upsets in 1997, matt. If it hadn't been for the blind ref. I know, I didn't support them back then as I was only 4. I've always loved the FA Cup, IMO its the best trophy in English football. RE: FA Cup upsets - Amelia Chaffinch - 14-09-2014 Here are my favourites: Sunderland 1-0 Leeds We made Huddersfield Town rosettes at Junior School the day before the final! Leeds 0-1 Hereford Then, just a year later .... Histon 1-0 Leeds Not forgetting this gem ... Rochdale 2-0 Leeds RE: FA Cup upsets - spireitematt - 14-09-2014 RE: FA Cup upsets - Stairs - 14-09-2014 there are too many FA Cup upsets for West Brom fans for this thread. Every year is an FA Cup upset and I expect with the start of the season we have had that this will be the same RE: FA Cup upsets - Amelia Chaffinch - 14-09-2014 No giant killing memories, Stairs? RE: FA Cup upsets - Lord Snooty - 15-09-2014 My favourite was in the early 70s when the mighty Don Revie's "champions of Europe" lost at 4th division Colchester. RE: FA Cup upsets - Marco4 - 15-09-2014 This was always my favourite. RE: FA Cup upsets - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 15-09-2014 (14-09-2014, 23:23)Amelia Chaffinch Wrote: No giant killing memories, Stairs? We've been the toppled giants ourselves a lot more often. Woking is commonly held as the lowest point in the club's history, and Halifax wasn't much better. Last time we actually beat a Premier League team in the competition was 2002, which tells you a lot about Albion's cup fortunes in recent times. |
