F1 Prediction Game (Interforum League) 2014 - pob - 11-09-2014 Hi! I host the interforum league, a competition between different internet forums based on the zdkf1 prediction game. I know some of you have played before, but for those who haven't, it's quite simple: for each f1 race you pick the top 10 and pole position. Taking part can help promote more discussion about f1 on the forum as well as raising the profile of the forum itself. How to play:
In addition to helping sportsbabble fight against other forums for the (poorly photoshopped) league trophy, you will be competing for individual awards including: individual champion (most points on zdkf1); 6 tenths award (for most league points scored); quali trophy (for best pole time predictor), and the much-coveted bernie medal (for most victories). It's the fourth year of the competition in this format; here's the league tables from previous seasons (anyone in the top 100 on zdkf1 are pictured as drivers): 2013, 2012, and 2011. Don't worry about joining midseason, you will get some points for each race you missed (usually 20), and it'll be good practice for next year. Here's the current league table: Code: Pos Forum Points RE: F1 Prediction Game (Interforum League) 2014 - Stairs - 19-09-2014 (11-09-2014, 16:02)pob Wrote: Hi! Rosberg's retirement meant a relatively easy race for his teammate and only other realistic title challenger Lewis Hamilton; only a safety car period before Hamilton's final stop meant that he temporarily lost the lead to Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, but he easily retook the lead using DRS on the following lap. Driver of the race was probably Jean-Eric Vergne, who took full advantage of his fresh option tyres taken on under the safety car to blast past several drivers and even nullifying the effects of a 5 second penalty to take Toro Rosso's best result of the season in the form of 6th place. This would pave the way for Vettel to move to Ferrari (the paddock's worst kept secret for several years). What would really kick silly season off is if enough of the backmarker teams announce their imminent withdrawal from F1 to force Bernie's hand in having three car teams next year. RE: F1 Prediction Game (Interforum League) 2014 - pob - 08-10-2014 Japan GP Vettel announces his decision to leave Red Bull and Hamilton extends his WDC lead with a convincing win in the rain over Rosberg, but the whole weekend is overshadowed by the serious injury of Marussia driver and Ferrari protege Jules Bianchi who crashed into a tractor-crane that was recovering the Sauber of Adrian Sutil. Bianchi remains in intensive care in a "critical but stable" condition after an operation to try and reduce the bruising to his head. Mercedes secured the WCC. Bottas again impressed in the Williams in third, and McLaren finally had a good race with fourth and fifth for Button and Magnussen respectively. 3 races to go and silly season still rumbles on with no announcements yet on where Vettel is going (although everyone is sure it's to Ferrari) or what Alonso will do. The WDC set to go to the wire, but Rosberg now needs bad luck to strike Hamilton. Felipe Massa delighted the crowd with a podium finish despite a penalty for pitlane speeding and then stopping in the wrong pits. Button has a strong drive to 4th to show McLarren what they will be missing next year if they choose Magnussen over him to partner Alonso (?) . Ferrari didn't use team orders (for once) and Alonso had to get past his teammate Raikkonen all by himself on his way to 6th place. The smaller teams are furious as they perceive themselves to be being pushed out of f1 by Bernie and the bigger teams in a prelude to a restructuring of F1 into a two tier championship with customer cars.
