The Build up

It's true to say England are not only hot favourites to win the group from here but you also wouldn't back against them winning all 10 qualifying games. However This won't be as easy as we think, Lithuania maybe 4th in the table but the only thing right now that separates them from a Euro 2016 play off place is goal difference so no doubt they wil be trying to get a point out this at the very least.
So what can we expect, not much difference in the England squad and just the one uncapped player called up in Harry Kane of Spurs who happens to have scored more goals in this country at the top level this season than any other english man...good call Roy!

The Squads
England
Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster (Southampton), Joe Hart (Manchester City).
Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton), Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur).
Midfielders: Ross Barkley (Everton), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Fabian Delph (Aston Villa), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Manchester City), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Andros Townsend (Tottenham Hotspur), Theo Walcott (Arsenal).
Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal).

Wakeys International Prediction
A comfortable 3-0 win for England

RE: England v Lithuania - Lord Snooty - 24-03-2015

Sturridge out. Will the boy Kane start?

RE: England v Lithuania - St Charles Owl - 24-03-2015

Even with Sturridge in Kane should be starting!! He is afterall the top English scorer in the Prem this season, so on form alone he has to start. This is the perfect game to give him his debut, not a ton of pressure and a game we should win.

RE: England v Lithuania - Lord Snooty - 24-03-2015

And when he has a quiet game, doesn't score and gets subbed after an hour, he'll get slagged off in the wonderful British press.  Rolleyes

RE: England v Lithuania - St Charles Owl - 24-03-2015

Of course Snoots, we spent the best part of 15 years trying to destroy Beckham, the best player England had produced in decades and one who was so proud to be playing for England!!

RE: England v Lithuania - WakeyTerrier - 24-03-2015

Right now I'd start Rooney and Welbeck up top, if things go according to plan bring Kane on after 60mins

RE: England v Lithuania - Lord Snooty - 24-03-2015

Rooney? He's shite! Wink

RE: England v Lithuania - turkeydinner - 27-03-2015

I dont think England have the players for 4-4-2 as they have in the past thus 4-2-3-1 for me

Back four
Two defensive mids then

Walcott-Rooney-Sterling
Welbeck or Kane

Creativity and flair for once!

RE: England v Lithuania - St Charles Owl - 27-03-2015

England team: 1 Hart 2 Clyne 3 Baines 4 Henderson 5 Cahill 6 Jones 7 Sterling 8 Carrick 9 Welbeck 10 Rooney © 11 Delph

RE: England v Lithuania - turkeydinner - 27-03-2015

Smalling been in far better form than Jones who whilst has far improved is a long way from `dominant` , Smalling for the most has really come into a different class this season his distribution is awful though

I dont rate Delph, I mean where are Villa in the league? Why not Tom Cleverley? He`s done about as much as Delph if England are picking average midfielders

Its a very safe side, safe as in cautious to me
