Coventry City @Deepdale 7/2/2015 - themaclad - 05-02-2015 Right time to get our less than impressive league form back on track, hopefully last Tuesday's win at Bramall will give the Whites a major confidence boost in their main priority in getting out of this league. Interesting selection problems for Grayson stick or twist with Tuesday's team, Garner will be on the bench though, the Jackal is back. Coventry fairly clueless at home better away should provide more of a test than they did at the Ricoh, they've brought a few in in the last few weeks but cannot play keeper Jones as he is on loan from us. Three points required boys time to deliver RE: Coventry City @Deepdale 7/2/2015 - St Charles Owl - 05-02-2015 Three points absolutely needed from all your home games now. You have a pack behind you slowly catching you up and the gap above is starting to widen, need a run of 5 or 6 wins to cement your place at least in the playoffs and put some pressure back onto the top three!! That all starts at home!! Good luck! RE: Coventry City @Deepdale 7/2/2015 - themaclad - 07-02-2015 Well there are ugly wins and ugly wins this was the ugliest of wins but a win it was. Kevin Davis heading home after 21 minutes after Gallagher had fired in an inch perfect cross. North End dominated the first half against a fairly poor looking Coventry side who had offered little in the way of an attacking threat. In truth North End had offered little up front either apart from another Davies headed which Burge saved that was the sum total of the first half. Only one side in it in the second half and it wasn't North End, the half time team talk must have been interesting as North End dozed through the second half. Nouble missed from close range and ex North Ender Barton's dipping shot was saved by Johnstone. Everybody in the ground expected a Coventry equaliser but it didn't come although Fleck's 30 yarder hit the bar in the 4th minute of injury time, it would have given the Sky Blues a deserved point but it didn't. Van Gaal won't be losing sleep on that performance however we are just lulling him into a false sense of security.
