Midfielder Craig Clay is among eight players to leave League Two champions Leyton Orient this summer.

Clay, 31, has made 239 appearances for the O's during his six years with the club, winning two league titles.

Sonny Fish, Anthony Georgiou, Jordan Lyden, Sam Sargeant, Harry Smith, Connor Wood and Matt Young also depart.

Veteran midfielder Darren Pratley, 38, is one of 10 players offered new deals having made 39 league appearances this season as the club won promotion.

"Everyone has been involved and played a part in the end goal. In Sam Sargeant and Craig Clay we have two incredible servants to the club that we will say goodbye to," director of football Martin Ling said.

Goalkeepers Rhys Byrne and Lawrence Vigouroux, defenders Omar Beckles, Jordan Brown, Harrison Sodje, Jayden Sweeney and Dan Happe, and forwards Paul Smyth and Daniel Nkrumah have also all been offered new contracts with the club for their return to League One next season.

Midfielder Jordan Brown has signed a new contract with League Two champions Leyton Orient.

The 21-year-old, who joined from Derby County in January 2022, will now remain at Brisbane Road until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Brown scored one goal in 39 appearances in all competitions this season as Orient returned to the third tier following an eight-year absence.

Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Darren Pratley will also stay with the club.

The 38-year-old featured 42 times this season and has been handed a new one-year deal.

Leyton Orient have signed centre-midfielder Max Sanders on a two-year deal after his contract at Lincoln City expired.

The 24-year-old made 72 appearances for the League One side over two-and-a-half seasons.

Sanders also played four times for England Under-19 in 2018.

He began his career at Brighton and Hove Albion, where he captained the under-23 side that achieved promotion to the Premier League 2 Division 1.

The versatile midfielder has said he is thrilled to have joined the O's, who won promotion from League Two last season.

"Leyton Orient was definitely the best choice for me. With the promotion last season, everyone is still buzzing. I've seen the stadium and spoke to the Gaffer a lot, so I'm really excited and I think that it will be a great move for me," Sanders said.

"I'm someone who likes to get on the ball as much as I can, I've played as a deep-lying midfielder, I have played as a number eight, and I've played as part of a two.

"Whatever the manager wants me to do I will do, and I'm confident in doing a good job in a number of positions."

Defender Omar Beckles has signed a new two-year contract with League One newcomers Leyton Orient.

The 31-year-old centre-back, who joined the east London club in June 2021, featured 43 times last season as the O's won the League Two title.

"I wanted to continue my journey here and I can even see myself ending my career here," he told the club website.

"I'm really excited to be a part of what we are doing here, and the club has got so much potential."

Beckles began his career at Millwall and has previously had spells at Aldershot Town, Accrington Stanley, Shrewsbury Town and Crewe Alexandra.

He was elected as chair of the Professional Footballers' Association earlier this year.

League One newcomers Leyton Orient have signed Daniel Agyei on a free transfer after the forward turned down a new contract at Crewe Alexandra.

The 26-year-old scored 17 goals in 61 appearances for Crewe after joining from Oxford United in January 2022.

He has agreed a two-year deal with the O's and becomes their second signing of the summer transfer window.

"Of all of the opposition last year, he was probably the standout player," boss Richie Wellens told the club website.

"He scores all different types of goals, using pace, power, a good left foot, and scores headers."

Leyton Orient have signed Northern Ireland international Ethan Galbraith after his exit from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old midfielder - who has two caps for his country - was on loan at League Two Salford last season.

He came through the ranks at Linfield before making the switch to the United academy, making his debut in a Europa League tie against Astana in 2019.

Galbraith also played under Os boss Richie Wellens during the 2021-2022 season on loan at Doncaster Rovers.

League One newcomers Leyton Orient have re-signed Ipswich Town midfielder Idris El Mizouni on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old scored three goals in 44 appearances during a loan stint with the O's last season, as the east London club won the League Two title.

El Mizouni, who won one international cap for Tunisia in 2019, becomes the Brisbane Road side's fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

"It was an easy decision for me to come back," he told the club website.

"The success we had last season makes us more hungry this year. We can't wait for a season in League One."

Leyton Orient have signed goalkeeper Sam Howes from National League club Wealdstone for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old, who has won one cap for England C, has agreed a two-year deal with the League One newcomers.

Howes, a former West Ham United trainee, was an ever-present for the Stones in the league last season, keeping 10 clean sheets.

"I want to push to be the number one, and continue to improve my game," he told the club website.

Howes was part of the England squad which won the Under-17 European Championship in 2014, and has also had spells in non-league with Hampton & Richmond, Eastbourne Borough, Woking, Dorking Wanderers and Horsham.

Orient had been looking to bolster their options between the sticks after last season's number one Lawrence Vigouroux joined Premier League side Burnley on a free transfer.

"Sam has a great background in his career, coming through at West Ham, and he dropped out of the professional game to get competitive experience," head coach Richie Wellens said.

"He will come in and complement Rhys Byrne and another goalkeeper, who we can't announce yet."

League One newcomers Leyton Orient have signed Middlesbrough goalkeeper Sol Brynn on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Swindon Town, making 49 appearances in all competitions for the League Two club.

Brynn, who is yet to make his senior debut for Boro, has also had stints with Darlington and Scottish side Queen of the South.

He becomes Orient's sixth signing of the summer transfer window.

"We've been chasing him for a while, and for him to want to come to us speaks volumes about what we're doing here," O's goalkeeping coach Simon Royce told the club website.

"He had a fantastic season last year with Swindon, who didn't have the best year themselves. Sol's stats were at the top end of the division for goalkeepers, and he was always our number one target."

Last week the east London club signed keeper Sam Howes from non-league Wealdstone after last season's number one Lawrence Vigouroux joined Premier League side Burnley on a free transfer.

League One club Leyton Orient have signed Joe Pigott after the striker's contract at Ipswich Town was cancelled by mutual consent.

The 29-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the O's and becomes the east London club's seventh signing of the summer transfer window.

Pigott scored three goals in 29 outings for Ipswich after joining in 2021.

He spent last season on loan at Portsmouth, scoring seven times in 44 appearances in all competitions.

"I think he needs to find a home and someone who trusts him to get back to his goalscoring form, but he offers an awful lot of qualities," Orient boss Richie Wellens told the club website.

"He's a focal point in terms of his size, but he's certainly not a target man. We think his qualities will really help us this season."
