The Owls v Exeter City L1 Match Thread - Owlkev71 - 20-04-2023 THE MATCH SATURDAY 22ND APRIL KO 3:00PM v LAST MATCH We got back to winning ways after the embarassment of Burton. Bristol had the vast majority of the possession but very few chances were created although both goalies had saves. We took the lead when we stole possession and the ball fell to Bannan who scored with an angled shot past the keeper. We made it two just before HT when Famewo scrambled one in from close range. Onto the 2nd half and Iorfa fell asleep at the back and Collins fired past Dawson. Bristol huffed and puffed but we managed to holdout and keep us alive in the automatic hunt. THE MATCH Next up and back to Hillsborough as Exeter make the long journey north. The Grecians will be in League One next season after last seasons promotion, hopefully we wont be playing them. They have two main threats in Nombe (17)and Brown (14) but neither were in the squad for there last game against Derby. They are managed by Gary Caldwell, who has been in charge since October lasy year and has a 30% win rate ALL TIME H2H OWLS 4 EXETER 7 DRAWS 2 CURRENT FORM OWLS - EXETER - EFL STOOGES DOES IT MATTER THERE ALL CORRUPT DECLAN BOURNE Daniel Woodward and Gary Hilton Fourth Official : Andy Haines THE TEAM Dawson Palmer Famewo Flint Adeniran Bannan Shipston Vaulks Johnson Gregory Smith SCORE & SCORER (HOME TEAM SCORE FIRST) 2-1 Gregory WEDNESDAYS FIRT GOAL TIME 26 BML LEAGUE Owlskev 27 Stateside 23 SCO 22 Imre 21 Wash 20 Maddix 17 Peiowl 14 OTHER GAMES OF MILD INTEREST Brentford v Villa Preston v Blackburn Peterborough v Ipswich Hartlepool v Crawley Altrincham v Torquay ADDHA THE MUPPETT LEAGUE KATE BECKINSALE TRIBUTE PIC RE: The Owls v Exeter City L1 Match Thread - Imre varadi - 20-04-2023 2-0 smith 8 min Ddhhd RE: The Owls v Exeter City L1 Match Thread - Washington - 21-04-2023 2-0 Vaulks 33 DDDDD RE: The Owls v Exeter City L1 Match Thread - Statesideowl - 21-04-2023 2-2 Smith 16 ADAHH RE: The Owls v Exeter City L1 Match Thread - Imre varadi - 21-04-2023 Exeter have an injury crisis ..all main strikers are out plus others ... As a Wednesday fan though it feels like we've endured decades of cruelty with so little joy. This season we were so close to achieving something after another playoff failure last season and relegation prior to that! Moore and the players have let us all down so badly. The squad was always thin and those he placed his faith in did not step up. He continued to put his faith in these players rather than dabble in the market or give an academy product a chance. Moore said he didn't feel players were available better than the ones he had. Yet, Ipswich managed to find 4 that helped change their season!! All this on top of his poor management skills. It's just mistake after mistake which you simply cannot afford in this business. It's a cruel sport and sometimes you have to make really difficult decisions for the benefit of the Club. RE: The Owls v Exeter City L1 Match Thread - Maddix - 21-04-2023 We started on the slippery slope when we let Arsenal, the actual underdogs, beat us in two cup finals and the madcap (mis)management of Tricky Trev and the board replacing quality with numbers with fancy names We then fell off the precipice nearly a quarter of a century ago and since then the ever decreasing circle has continued to tighten with the occasional blip of a promotion from division 3 and a nice day out at Wembley I watched Men in Black the other night, noting the release date, and it reminded me of when/why I stopped going every week. It was getting raped at home by Blackburn on a shitty wet Satdi after spending well over 100 quid for tickets, food, petrol etc for an hour and half's 'entertainment' for the family and then going to watch a brilliant film on the way home for less than 20 quid It's not going to happen in our lifetimes SS so just accept what we have become. Go shopping, boozing, ten-pin bowling or anything you like on a Satdi but ...... noli illegitimi carborundum RE: The Owls v Exeter City L1 Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 21-04-2023 2-1 Smith 21 mins ADDDH |
