2023 World University Games - ritchiebaby - 22-01-2023 This is a quick report on the curling exploits of Great Britain (in reality, Scotland).The current World Junior Champions won the Gold Medal, defeating United States by 5-1 in the Final. The GB Team consisted of James Craik, Mark Watt, Angus Bryce, and Blair Haswell, supported by Jack Carrick. The GB Women - Fay Henderson, Robyn Munro, Holly Wilkie-Milne, Laura Watt with Lisa Davie - finished in a creditable 4th position after losing 3-7 against United States in the Bronze Medal game. As well as the curlers, Team GB's Scott Johns also won Gold in the Men's Ski-cross, with Thea Fenwick winning Bronze in the Women's Freeski Slopestyle. The whole competition, the second biggest winter sports event after the Winter Olympics, was held in Lake Placid, thankfully crocodile-free.
