Midfielder Luke Young and defender Harry Lennon have signed new contracts at Wrexham.

Young, 29, has agreed a two-year deal which keeps him at the National League club until the summer of 2024.

Young's 49 appearances last season triggered an extension in his previous deal, but he has now committed for a further year.

Former Southend United player Lennon, 27, has signed a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.

Young has made 181 appearances since joining Wrexham in 2018 and has been a regular under manager Phil Parkinson.

"I'm delighted to get it done, it keeps me here for at least another two years and hopefully it's two years of success, both on and off the pitch," he said.

Parkinson said: "Luke was excellent last season and has been previous to that as well.

"We're pleased to announce his contract and we look forward to seeing his level of performance next season."

Lennon made 17 league appearances last season having joined from Southend in July 2021.

However, the former Charlton Athletic player's campaign was curtailed by a back injury which needed surgery.

"I'm pleased Harry's deal has been agreed," said Parkinson.

"As we saw prior to his injury, he's an excellent player and we want to give him every chance to get back and be part of next season."

Lennon's most recent appearance was in February and Wrexham say he is still working towards a return to action.

Wrexham have signed former Crawley Town centre-back Jordan Tunnicliffe on a two year deal.

The 28-year-old defender was out of contract after spending three years at the League Two club.

He is the first signing of the summer after Wrexham missed out on promotion from the National League.

"I'm really excited, the ambition of the club, the size of the club, I'm just raring to get going," said Tunnicliffe.

"I've spoken to the gaffer, and he's outlined what he wants to do this season and I completely agree with him. It's a very, very tough league but if we stick to the essentials we can achieve those ambitions.

"I'm an ambitious player, and this is an ambitious club and that's what I'm looking forward to.

"The fanbase attracted me first and foremost. I spoke to the manager and when he told me his ideas I wanted to come straight away.

"I don't intend staying in the National League for long, I want to help the team get promoted and it will be a full squad effort to earn that."

Nuneaton-born Tunnicliffe began his career in West Bromwich Albion's academy before spells with Barnsley, Sutton Coldfield Town, Kidderminster Harriers and AFC Fylde where he won the FA Trophy.

He made more than 100 appearances for Crawley and was named in the EFL League Two Team of the Year in 2020-21. He has one England 'C' cap.

Wrexham invested significantly in their squad last season following the takeover of the club by Hollywood pair Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny.

They had the opportunity to achieve automatic promotion back to the EFL going into the final weekend of the regular campaign when they lost 1-0 at Bromley.

The north Wales side were then beaten 5-4 at home by Grimsby in the play-off semi-final to extend their stay in the National League to a 15th season.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is intent on making further additions to his squad for the 2022-23 season.

"I'm pleased to bring Jordan in to the Club. I think he's a strong signing for us with a lot of EFL experience; he's a good addition," said Parkinson.

"It's the first signing in, and we're working away on several situations.

"As I've said all along, the aim is to make the squad stronger than it was last season but as everybody knows, the base and platform we're starting from is a lot further along than it was 12 months ago.

"We just gradually want to piece it together. There's quite a bit of time before the season starts yet and hopefully we'll get the squad that will give us a really, really good season."

Wrexham have signed former Luton Town forward Elliot Lee on a three-year contract.

Lee left Championship side Luton at the end of the 2021-22 campaign having spent the season on loan at Charlton Athletic.

The 27-year-old started his career at West Ham United and moved to Barnsley, where he spent a year before joining Luton in 2017.

"I wanted to join somewhere that excited me," Lee said.

"I had a few EFL offers but after hearing about the ambition of this club, it was Wrexham for me.

"I feel like I know what it takes to get promoted.

"We got back-to-back promotions at Luton. I joined them in League Two and left them in the Championship, so if I can do something similar at Wrexham I think we'll all be delighted."

Lee is Wrexham's third signing of the close season following the arrival of defender Jordan Tunnicliffe and goalkeeper Mark Howard.

"He's been involved in a successful team at Luton and we're really looking forward to integrating him with our squad in the coming weeks," said Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson.

"In all my chats with him, he's really understood and been enthused by what the club is all about. That buy-in is just as important as his ability."

Meanwhile striker Jake Bickerstaff, 20, has signed a contract extension with Wrexham until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Wrexham have signed winger Anthony Forde from Oxford United for an undisclosed fee.

Forde, who came through the ranks at Wolves, has signed a two-year deal with the Dragons.

The 28-year-old was with Walsall and Rotherham before joining Oxford in 2019, where he scored four goals in 93 games.

"I know about the history of the club and think there are exciting times ahead," Forde said.

"First and foremost, I'll give 100 per cent. Hopefully I can get some assists and a few goals, and create a lot of chances for the team."

Forde is Wrexham's fourth summer signing following the arrival of Jordan Tunnicliffe, Mark Howard and Elliot Lee.

"He's played a lot of his football at Championship level, so it's a really strong signing for us," manager Phil Parkinson said.

Wrexham defender Bryce Hosannah has extended his contract with the National League club.

"He's a player with a lot of potential and we're looking forward to continuing to work with him this season," Parkinson said.

Hosannah said he had enjoyed his first season at Wrexham despite the club missing out on promotion.

"It was obviously a disappointing end, coming so close, but the season as a whole I really enjoyed," Hosannah said.

"I played in a number of roles, and got a lot of exposure to first-team football, so I'm looking forward to more of the same."

The 22-year-old, whose contract has the option for a third season, is Wrexham's fifth recruit of the summer.

"I'm so excited to be here and can't wait to get started. When I played here last season, the fans were just incredible," Dalby said.

"There's a lot going on here and you can see how big the project is. Promotion is obviously the big aim, along with scoring a few goals and helping the team."

Darby scored 10 goals in 45 games last season and the 6ft 3in player was voted Southend's young player of the year.

He follows Jordan Tunnicliffe, Mark Howard, Elliot Lee and Anthony Forde as new recruits at the Racecourse Ground.

The 25-year-old had spells with Carshalton Athletic and Wealdstone before switching to Boreham Wood in July 2021.

"It means a lot, because Wrexham are a very big Club with a very big fanbase," Mendy said.

"There are good people here and I can't wait to meet everyone."

Jacob Mendy scored two goals in 44 league appearances for Boreham Wood last season.
"I'm so excited to be here and can't wait to get started. When I played here last season, the fans were just incredible," Dalby said.

"It's not often in football you get to find a place where you feel settled, and I've got that here. It's like home for me.

"I want to be here for the long haul, I want to be on the journey and I want to take us up the leagues."

Midfielder Andy Cannon has joined Wrexham on a two-and-a-half year deal from Championship side Hull City.

Having started his career with Rochdale, Cannon, 26, has also played for Portsmouth.

He won the National League last season while on loan at Stockport County, who pipped Wrexham to the title.

"I'm over the moon. We've been talking for a few weeks and so to finally get it done… I'm really looking forward to getting going," said Cannon.

"Everything that's going on here… it's a positive place to be around. I played here last season, and saw the atmosphere and I can't wait to get going to be a part of it.

"I like to be on the ball, I like to drive forward from time to time, but hopefully just keep everything calm in the middle, get on the ball, push the team up the pitch and show my quality."

"He's a player with EFL experience, and he's a good age to come in and grow with the club."
