Celtic v Rangers, 1 May - the Scot Prem title beckons!! - 0762 - 30-04-2022 I think this is a case of a brief lesson recently learned at Hampden and lets "get it right" this time. Celtic playing Rangers in between two big Euro fixtures for them, what a good time to play them and they also have injuries to deal with too. Ange's strategy has to be a hi-press one to "test out tired legs" and try to win the Scot Prem title in style and in front of the massed ranks of Hoops fans who'd like to see it returned to Celtic Park in such a way esp after the disappointing events of last season. I'm sure converting vg goal opps will be emphasised long before the KO time - no more profligacy in front of goal at crucial times of this particular derby match plus a long unbeaten league record to protect. RE: Celtic v Rangers, 1 May - the Scot Prem title beckons!! - hibeejim21 - 01-05-2022 Finishes 1-1 in the end, probably a fair result all things considered. Both teams had chances to take the points, but outside of the first 20 and the last 20 celtic probably had the edge. Sevco had to win to stand any chance of the league, it's as simple as that. Celtic have a 6 point lead and a plus 19 goal difference with 3 games left, it would take a spectacular collapse for them to not win it now. RE: Celtic v Rangers, 1 May - the Scot Prem title beckons!! - 0762 - 01-05-2022 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61203308 Yep! A tense match with clearly a lot at stake and Celtic could well have been "out of sight" before that Rangers equaliser against the "run of play". The Hoops profligate in front of Rangers goal on a number of occasions, Maeda prob the chief sinner in not turning the occasion into a big celebratory one with a second "comfort goal", an easy goal opp, at 1-0. The last 10 mins were really bizarre in the fact that Rangers were still in the game and certain Celtic defenders and mid players showing a great deal of nervousness and could well have paid a big price in not properly managing the game to a positive conclusion had it not been for Joe Hart "standing firm" and a Celtic post keeping out a late Sakala "strike". Lotsa Celtic fans still celebrating unofficially winning the title as it will indeed be a miracle if Rangers get near Celtic's top position position now and Ange fairly relaxed and happy at the end of this game. RE: Celtic v Rangers, 1 May - the Scot Prem title beckons!! - hibeejim21 - 01-05-2022 Postecoglu has done a decent job with the rebuild there in not a lot of time. They are unbeaten in something like 29 games i think it said on 5 live. The Huns are trying to make out they are unworthy champions as well The season metrics show celtic have created more chances and conceded less over the season. Sevco have done well in europe but if they don't go on and win the thing now their season and financial future doesn't look very positive. Meanwhile the fat lady is clearing her throat. RE: Celtic v Rangers, 1 May - the Scot Prem title beckons!! - 0762 - 02-05-2022 The Huns now complaining re the role of the Glesca Police inside the stadium plus the stewarding and focused on some disabled RFC fans being hit by missiles. Pardon my cynicism, but haven't we seen this type of RFC reaction before esp when they have failed in their quest to win some kinda trophy???? They play the "offended party card" and draw the audience away from the footie and the negative news for The Rangers - done that, seen that!! No mention of the fact their fans persist in spouting off their poisonous chants from the stands and are allowed to do so!!! Why?????????? More or less "swept under the carpet" and the BBC are one of the biggest offenders in this regard apart from the journo/pundit, Tom English, who still calls them out re the toxicity attached to their footie ops while the likes of Mikey Stewart was definitely subdued by certain BBC officials after previous justified criticism of their behaviour and the way they operate around the sport of footie. |
