Ah, that's how you do it. Greaves gets a big stride in, sweeps Trumpelmann for four. Three figures on the horizon now.

Ooh, Leask nearly run out off a quick single. Can't risk him like that, he needs to be there at the death.

Still think Scotland are way too reliant on sweep shots, but when it works, it works. Leask finds the boundary, 92-5 with four overs left.

Huge blow. Leask bowled for 44 trying to get too clever. Scotland 93-6.

Now Watt gone for 3, and it's all subsiding a bit. 99-7.

Three figures up at last! 100-7 with nine balls left. Just need to attack everything now, singles aren't going to make a defendable score from here.

Some excellent death-bowling from Namibia in the end, nothing on offer for the batsmen to send to the boundary. Greaves run out off the last ball, Scotland finish on 109-8.

RE: ICC T20 World Cup 2021 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 27-10-2021

Namibia 56-2 halfway through the chase, not in any great rush to knock the total off, but Scotland still need wickets.

And there's one! Leask cleans up Erasmus for 4. Massive scalp, Namibia 61-3.

Wiese at the crease, and he's going to be key. Get him quick and the match is still alive. If he's still in after four or five overs, that total will be dust.

Now Williams stumped for 23! Scotland putting up a decent fight. Namibia 67-4.

Scotland just about dragged the asking rate back to a run a ball with their spinners, but have now gone with pace again and are leaking runs all over the shop. Big mistake unless Sharif can redeem himself with a wicket.

JJ Smit pulls Chris Greaves for six. That might just be the death-knell for the Scottish fightback. Namibia 91-4.

Leask has Wiese caught for 16, but it's too little too late. Namibia 102-5, need just 8 off 14 balls.

Frylinck caught for 2 with the scores level. Prolonging the inevitable at this point, Namibia 109-6.

Smit wraps it up with a six, Namibia win with five deliveries to spare. Positives for Scotland to take from the bowling performance, taking it into the final over is a real achievement when defending a low score, but after the early carnage in their own innings they just couldn't get the extra 10-15 runs with the bat that would have bagged a win.

Week Two Roundup B

With Pakistan the pace-setters in Group B, putting one foot in the semis after their triumph over a tenacious Afghanistan, Group A will be the focus of Saturday's action. England and Australia duel for pole position at the top in the late game, while the morning's clash will see Sri Lanka and South Africa - both with one win to their credit - battle to close the gap and pile pressure onto the loser of the Ashes appetiser. Despite high hopes going into the tournament, Bangladesh have been bodied by three successive defeats, and are now all but certain of elimination, while their most recent vanquishers West Indies retain a slender toehold in the competition. Elsewhere, it's all gone horribly wrong for Scotland, but they've got a few days to get their heads together before the learning curve of top-level cricket resumes against New Zealand in the middle of next week. Fellow minnows Namibia are back in action on Sunday, where they'll try to extend their winning streak against an Afghanistan side who've made great strides in this World Cup.

To judge by the run and wicket charts you'd think that Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were waltzing the World Cup, but some of the real heavyweights are starting to creep up outside the top five, with Pakistan's Haris Rauf taking six wickets in this first week - as did the Afghan spin twins Mujeeb and Rashid Khan - while Rauf's teammate Babar Azam stands poised on 128 runs, eight ahead of the prolific Mohammad Rizwan.

RE: ICC T20 World Cup 2021 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 30-10-2021

England win the toss, put Australia in to bat, and Woakes strikes in the second over with Warner caught behind. Aus 7-1.

Can't keep him out of the game! Woakes takes a one-handed catch diving backwards to remove Steve Smith for 1 off Jordan's bowling. Aus 8-2. Tee hee.

Maxwell LBW to Woakes for 6 and blows a review on it to boot. Aus 15-3 Laugh

Ooh, Finch escapes an LBW off Chris Jordan on umpire's call.

Dilly has Stoinis plumb LBW for a fourth-ball duck. Aus 21-4 Laugh

Livingstone has Wade caught on the boundary for 18. Aus 51-5.

RE: ICC T20 World Cup 2021 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 30-10-2021

Australia 125 all out in precisely twenty overs. Given some of the low-scoring pitches at this tournament there might be a few twists and turns, but on paper that's a good total to chase.

48-0 after five overs, absolute cakewalk so far.

Roy gone LBW for 22, England 66-1.

Buttler 25-ball half-century. England 89-1.

Malan gone, but the Aussie defence is in tatters. England 97-2.

RE: ICC T20 World Cup 2021 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 30-10-2021

Total knocked off inside of twelve overs. Net run-rate: somewhere in the region of Saturn. After a monstering like that, I think they should be required by law to hand over the Ashes Whistle

RE: ICC T20 World Cup 2021 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 01-11-2021

Three wickets lost in the powerplay, but a phenomenal Buttler century completed with a last-ball six, with support from Morgan, has set Sri Lanka a defendable target of 164.

Nissanka run out, Sri Lanka 1-1. Perfect start for England.

Asalanka came in on a mission, tried to take on Rashid and failed. Sri Lanka 24-2.

Rashid accounts for Perera in almost identical fashion. Sri Lanka 34-3.

Oooof. Woakesy shells an absolute dolly from danger-man Rajapaksa. Hope that doesn't cost us.

Jordan has Avishka LBW for 13. Sri Lanka 57-4.

RE: ICC T20 World Cup 2021 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 01-11-2021

Rajapaksa finally perishes. Sri Lanka 76-5. England in firm control.
