RE: Watford v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Parisowl - 23-10-2023 Tried to go to Wolves vs Liverool in 1976 . Mate was a big QPR fan and they were still in contention. Left when we saw f”””king scoures trying to break into the ground by forcing open the exit gates. Self fuc”” Pity City they deserve. Sorry but only people to blame for Hillsborough disaster are Liverpool fans. Not sure how many Sheffield coppers were at Heysel - can we blame them as well RE: Watford v The Owls SBC Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 23-10-2023 (23-10-2023, 21:52)Parisowl Wrote: Tried to go to Wolves vs Liverool in 1976 . Not sure how many Sheffield coppers were at Heysel - can we blame them as well I am not blaming the coppers, I am blaming their hierarchy who made some really bad decisions that day. Let's be right, we all saw this coming with hindsight, if it hadn't happened at Hillsborough that day it would have happened somewhere else at a later date. Liverpool fans caused some of the problems on the day for sure, but they weren't alone in that. The police tactics were brutal and the term herding cattle applied at every away game. The grounds were all unsafe back then as well, I remember away at Burnley where they crammed us into a terrace or the alley behind Maine Road or at Chelsea when we were in pens after fences went up. Hillsborough in 1989 was the perfect storm of everything we had seen in football during the 70s and 80s!! I remember going to Villa we were kept in the away supporters coach park by plod until about 20 to 3 and then marched to the ground (how the f'uck 30 odd coach loads were supposed to get through the turnstiles in time for KO I don't know). The police were absolute c'unts. One of my mates got jumped on by five of the w'ankers for bursting into a Wednesday chant during the march Seven o'clock before they let him out of the cells meanwhile we're sat in a coach park waiting for him with no protection while plod has f'ucked off home to plan his next rape or murder. And they wonder why we have no respect for the b'astards RE: Watford v The Owls SBC Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 23-10-2023 (23-10-2023, 22:34)Maddix Wrote: I remember going to Villa we were kept in the away supporters coach park by plod until about 20 to 3 and then marched to the ground (how the f'uck 30 odd coach loads were supposed to get through the turnstiles in time for KO I don't know). And they wonder why we have no respect for the b'astards I remember going to West Ham on the Intercity Owl train. There was about 500 or so of us, the police frogmarched us down some high street towards the ground and slowly but surely other Wednesday fans in the area started walking with us as they felt safe in numbers, but so did a bunch of WH fans. About halfway to the ground it all kicked off, inside the cordon the police had created to march us!! It was chaos but you saw that all the time at away games. Went home in plenty of coaches that had broken windows for the journey home. In the end me, my Dad and Brother decided it was safer to go in our own car and walk to the ground without colors.
