He's a good player with pace to burn RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early.. - betterthanbaird - 15-05-2015 (15-05-2015, 20:17)Worldclassalbion Wrote:(15-05-2015, 18:17)drewks Wrote: Looks like Garmston is on his way Shame, I hope he does well and becomes a regular in the championship after a few years, he went to my school for a while so I really wanted him to make our team. Unfortunately over the past couple of seasons we have seen that a lot of the players we had high hopes for haven't made the grade. Next up it is Adil Nabi who really needs to be getting game time by the end of next season or he will likely be let go as well. The ones to watch in the academy now are Samir Nabi, Jonathan Leko and Tyler Roberts - aged 17, 16 and 16. These three next generation graduates are rated higher than the likes of Mantom, Roofe, Garmston and Thorne were from our first batch of category 1 academy players, The challenge is holding on to these three - especially Roberts and Leko, who are attracting attention - and ensuring they don't go the way of Jerome Sinclair, Yan Dhanda and Izzy Brown. (imagine our under 18's if we still had those three) That reminds me, I really need to update the youth academy thread. I will do it at the end of the season when we know who will be released and who will be kept. Adil Nabi scored the only goal as we beat Reading 1-0 earlier to end the U21 season. RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early.. - Beefy 1965 - 15-05-2015 Well we need players with pace and power and we don't have many ....... I know let's sell one of the few we already have Sess stormed out of the ground and travelled home after being left out of the game against Newcastle http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/773344461?-11200:789 RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early.. - wba_1996 - 15-05-2015 (15-05-2015, 22:29)Beefy 1965 Wrote: Well we need players with pace and power and we don't have many ....... I've seen this coming for a while, he just isn't a TP player. I've liked watching him more than any other player we have had in the PL era bar Odem/Gera but he will be 31 in a few weeks and doesn't fit into Pulis' system. Feel for him as he is genuinely one of our best players and will wish him well wherever he goes. I'm calling it now, a £2m move to a Qatar/UAE club in the summer as that is where he was off to before we signed him. Best move for all parties really, we get extra money in the transfer kitty and he gets his move to a warm, relaxed league with a fat paycheck to play out his remaining few seasons. I also think one of the promoted clubs will go for him, or even Sunderland. RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early.. - silverbaggie - 16-05-2015 With all these players leaving, being sold, being released etc. I do hope we have a big, well researched, shopping list organised for the end of the season.(England - please send Mr Ashworth back!) AND A big wallet to go with it! Last summer I had expected it to be a significant statement of how the club would be run in the future. Only then to be frustrated by the time it took to acquire players and the quality that we got. It was especially frustrating to see the last minute panic buying that went on. I know, as I am often one to preach it, that nothing happens immediately because players and agents all go on breaks and then we have to wait for others to make their moves before we are in a position to negotiate. But please, please, let this summer be more organised, researched and quicker in getting pen to paper. don't think we need worry too much about conversation fading on this part of the site for the summer period......
