RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Slick_Footwork - 01-09-2016 The reality is, we still don't seem to have any money... More money in the league, new owners (apparently?) but for us it's the same ol same ol... When you consider the sales, we've spent almost nothing. We've released players signed from Prem Clubs on real wages (Sess and Anichebe) and replaced with loans / Championship freebie, who it's almost certain are earning less. Wouldn't surprise me if the Camacho bid was just a smokescreen to pretend we're showing ambition. Maybe we expected a 'bigger' club to gazump us, like Leicester did with Slimani. Did we really have any intention of paying £25m for him? I very much doubt it... Sakho deal was just as suspect. A relatively large fee agreed but for some unknown reason, which the club don't comment on, the deal falls through. Funny how that money was never spent on a striker even weeks later, we just end up with a freebie who has been knocking around all summer. If he was first choice why didn't we sign him before the season started? RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 01-09-2016 Slick we do have more money Its just not available yet ! Pat murphy who is a reliable BBC correspondent on all things WBA Said this was very much JP's window as the FA had not concluded the fit and proper test on our new owners ....... So a typical JP window then Tweet 23.34 @patmurphy @wbanews Retweet Pat Murphy has just said JP was still in charge during this window as the deal has not been ratified by the FA !! Going back to our Chairman's statement about pulling out of the Camacho deal The Malaga president has just released his, The English Club (WBA) had been in touch We told them the buy out clause We haven't heard from them since !!!!!!! So what is the truth This is typical WBA Who thought we could f**K up four windows in a row Málaga CF’s sports director, Francesc Arnau press conference: http://www.malagacf.com/en/news/arnau-we-are-one-of-the-few-clubs-that-hasnt-sold-any-players-in-spain Ignacio Camacho “Last week we received an offer, we referred to the buyout clause and the player asked us to assess the option of his departure. There was nothing further from the English club, and Camacho has proven to be a great professional. He’s been, he is, and always will be a great leader, and he flies the flag for the team. He helps players alongside him to grow and develop as he has done at this Club (…) The Club has been strong since the purchase of Camacho’s rights. We are stable, which allows us to be stronger in that aspect. I have no doubt that Camacho will continue to do what he’s been doing up to now, and he has all our support for the future.” RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - 4evaabaggie - 01-09-2016 Sounds a great player, we should sign him up. On another note..... Everything still being held up by the takeover ..... are the FA out to get us still, I don't think we have had a premier league season not messed up by the FA, bad decisions, excessive cards, extremely hard run of opening fixtures, did they delay the right and proper test to mess up our window. And finally ...... To be fair to JP ..... if I was selling a car for an agreed fee of ten thousand pounds I would not spend seven thousand on it before the sell, if I was in the process of buying said car for ten thousand I would not spend seven thousand pounds on it until deal completed. The story of our window in a nutshell. On another note..... 4eva, you've hit that nail so perfectly square on its head, perfectly put and dead right Wouldn't it be nice if somebody came out and either confirmed or denied any of those massive transfer fees that we kept hearing about had actually been lodged - and yes I know it will never happen. It's the hope that kills me - every transfer window RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 01-09-2016 (01-09-2016, 21:37)bomberbrown1968 Wrote:(01-09-2016, 21:10)4evaabaggie Wrote: Sounds a great player, we should sign him up. On another note..... Chin up Bomber there is always soccer manager RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 01-09-2016 Would any of this be anywhere near as bad if they just told us the truth? The majority of us are grown ups and can understand basic business, so why not just tell us whats happening? RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 01-09-2016 Quote from: Xpresso on Today at 08:19:46 PM As ever, Pat Murphy of the BBC cuts to the quick: "Cutting thro' the @WBA blame game... essential issue is how many of the five signed will be automatic first team choices this season? Chadli… and?" Amazing the comments from Pat Murphy both during the deadline day fiasco and now after it all seem to point blame elsewhere including his comment last night that Pulis would be "spitting feathers" but local papers quick to blame Pulis. RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - wba1978 - 02-09-2016 Here we go......... T.P apparently considering future at WBA http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/847333654?-11200:789:0 RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Stairs - 02-09-2016 (02-09-2016, 06:17)wba1978 Wrote: Here we go......... T.P apparently considering future at WBA If he is then it's better now than later in the season. RE: 2016 (Final Day - Closed) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Zinman - 02-09-2016 So there's a chance this could turn into a good window after all. |
