This just confirms that I've always taken some opinion polls in Scotland to be highly questionable and "not impartial"!! IMO the company should be heavily fined if proved to be "at it"/deceiving the public in any way. However, with Brit state involvement??????? F###### outrageous!!

At long last, Nicola "fires the starting gun" on getting out of this fractured Union once and for all!!!!!
We're already getting the usual orchestrated unionist muck raking from the bbc (the UK equivalent of Russia Today!!) such as the old chestnuts of 2014: "We all hate the English???? - not really, we hate the shit English/Brit govts voted in by the English electorate that are antagonistic towards Scotland and we never vote for them either"!!!! Then there is the pension scare - naebody's gonna get their earned pension any more - utter f###### bullshit!! And the poor economy argument is a weak one now when one looks at where the rUK is hurtling towards - a financial negative abyss!!! And Scotland is big enough, smart enough and rich enough to go our separate way confidently and successfully as an independent nation. This is the first prospectus, presented by our esteemed FM, on what a future independent Scotland will look like. Two more to follow covering the way forward in the months ahead when we get closer to the lead up to the 2023 Scotindy referendum.

I want whats best for Scotland, but i also want whats best for the UK. I honestly don't see how us staying in the open bin fire that is the Brexit britain under Boris and his gang of fascists helps either of us particularly. I mean Boris doesn't even have the support of the Scottish conservatives or most of his own party in parliament.
If for nothing else i'll vote for it for my kids, so they can at least try to build a better future for themselves away from the malignant clown car that is Westminster. Its never gonna change..... Bodgit is planning on taking us out the ECHR so he can send some of the worlds most vulnerable people to xxxx rwanda !! England is heading into a right wing tailspin.
The notion that we need westminsters say so for a referendum is absurd.

I feel truly sorry for the millions of English left-leaning decent voters who will lose out big-time if Scotland does (and I'm sure it will) get independence. They will be stuck with a Tory Government for decades to come no matter who is in charge. Perhaps we should set up a Scottish Refugee Agency to accept English refugees from political persecution!

I concur with Jim's sentiments re the future of my kids and grandkids under the full governance of our own people. The massive collapse in morality, ethical values, basic human rights, with a fascist Brit govt at the forefront of this assault on democracy, is certainly one of many reasons why we need to leave this fractured Union and let the rUK get on with whatever negative direction it wants to take without us.

This is one of the most bizarre stories I've ever read re a secretive Brit govt startled by an SNP challenge to reveal an old poll/study of public attitudes towards the status of the Union and initiated by Tommy Shepherd under a legitimate FOI request. This fascist Tory govt had been ordered twice by a court of law to reveal the concluding documents and had again refrained from doing so by another manufactured appeal which IMO should've been rejected by the court and said Brit govt ordered to reveal the docs. Now Gove and his cohorts employing a high profile QC to contest ever revealing this information??? They've spent a lotta money in legal costs to try and bypass a legitimate FOI request!! Tommy Shepherd currently setting up a people funder to finance and take on this latest attempt to avoid such a revelation. Also one must raise the logical question, "What is it that the Brit govt has to hide re this particular issue"???? It must be absolutely damning and negative towards the state of the Union, but the bigger issue is a precedent being attempted that a fascist Brit govt can "bodyswerve" any kinda legitimate FOI request that could embarrass them. In other words, they are never called to account over any political skulduggery or revelation of embarrassing info in their possession. What happened to open, democratic govt eh???

So the Scot Labour MSP, Alex Rowley, is advocating "Home Rule" as a solution to the constitutional problems we're faced with. He's a century too late! Home Rule was proposed for both Ireland and Scotland in the 19th and early 20th centuries and got nowhere fast. The reason is simple: most English people aren't interested or see no need for it. Before Rowley starts even trying to persuade Scots, he should have a bash at his English colleagues. It was mainly the attitude of his predecessors in Parliament who scuppered the earlier proposals a century ago. They don't seem to have changed much since then. IMO the call for "Home Rule" is merely "spitting in the wind" of time as the political culture has moved on. It's time Rowley recognised and accepted this rather than try to go back to the failed concepts of a bygone era. I'll stick to the latest concept that a consultative referendum for Scotindy is possibly the route that Nicola and Angus Robertson will opt for without this overrated Section 30 approval from the Boris clown. All the unionist cohorts getting in a stooshie re it being illegal huhhh!! Note the referendum that took us out of the EU was actually a consultative referendum!!! Also a Section 30 agreement signed by Johnson, highly unlikely btw, could be declared illegal by Westminster if they didn't like the result - it would finally cause an aggressive retaliation from Scots if they tried it, but note Johnson signed the NI agreement, accepted by Westminster, and then decided to disregard it. Therefore no sure way to get a legal referendum through Westminster if Johnson is opposed to it. Also worth noting the Scottish people are sovereign, and their will is what matters in international law. Johnson and his cabal and a host of powerful vested interests will try to stop the Scottish people having their independence, but they will fail. The Scottish people will succeed!

19 October 2023.......... Scotland basically refers the question of whether the Scottish Government can effectively hold a referendum to the Supreme Court.
If section 30 is rejected the SNP will run purely on independence and presumably declare UDI if they win.

Yep! A cute move by the Scot Gov and the FM! IMO Scottish Law prevails over English Law (btw it's also written/emphasised in the Treaty of Union 1707!). LINKED TO THAT CRITICISM WAS JOHNSON'S COMMENT AT THE G7 SUMMIT TODAY WHEN HE REMARKED THAT THE SOVEREIGN RIGHT OF THE GOVT AND PEOPLE OF AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY CALLED UKRAINE MUST BE SUPPORTED AT ALL COST???????? Different rules for a sovereign country called Scotland from the clown prince PM/Brit govt AGAIN!!
